do we know if it was communicated to Hanson by the Enterprise crew that the assimilated Picard was actively assisting the Borg?

Shelby pretty much spelled it out for him; he refused to listen. So vehemently, in fact, that it seems obvious Hanson perfectly understood that Picard had turned traitor.

Shelby: "You realize, Admiral, that with the assistance of Captain Picard, the Borg will be prepared for your defenses."
Hanson: <rants about how great a man Picard was, uh, is, uh, was>

While Hanson might not know how the Collective works exactly, even conventional torture techniques would provide the Borg with key secrets Hanson would absolutely have to take into account.
