I remember this show. At the end of it I think they had to make a pie or some shit and they usually tasted terrible and the mom would have this revolted look on her face.

I honestly don't remember that guy being that creepy though.

That's the same thing I said. I barely remember this show, but I'm surprised too that I didn't see how weird he was. I'm not defending him at all...it's odd how my 8 or 9 year-old self doesn't recall that part. Maybe I always turned the channel right away as it's a stupid idea for a game show anyway.
