Credits..before/after?

Star Trek doenst make mistakes like that. They carefully duplicated the appearance of Spocks death in the wrath of khan to try to match his 'death' in the simulator at the start of the movie to trick people. You could have credits at the start of hte movie and I bet if osmeone like Kirk made an appearance his name wouldnt appear until the end credits.

EDIT: Spose I should say they used to be careful not to make mistakes like that, these days I guess I'm not as confident...

Well, they left Christian Slater and Robert Picardo off of the opening credits of the Trek movies they made cameos in.

Of course, the Star Trek III trailer showed the Enterprise blowing up.

TV shows are the ones who love to promote the hell out of surprise cameos and thus kill the surprise cameos (NBC was upset they weren't told Clooney was going to be on ER during season six; and ABC had a promo that was based entirely on Jimmy Smits' surprise uncredited appearance in NYPD Blue).

If Robert Zemeckis were making this Star Trek movie, all the surprises, twists and turns would've been given away in one of the trailers because he compares movies to fast food and the audience wanting to know exactly what they're going to get.

The only movie to not have an opening credit sequence was Nemesis, and that resulted in that movie being an epic failure. If Trek XI is to be any kind of success, it needs an opening credit sequence.

I'll be brief here: If you were kidding - good. If you were not - huh?

About ER, Aragorn: Nope. It was in Clooney's contract that his appearance be kept a surprise. NBC did know about it. You think they don't screen what they are going to air first?

About Star Trek: If they want to keep something a surprise, they wouldn't put it in the opening credits. Remember STIII? Leonard Nimoy was credited at the end so as not to telegraph that Spock would in fact be resurrected. They are allowed to do that, you know...

And generally, most movies these days have the credits at the end. Which is good because it allows the story to start without delay. No way is Abrams not going to do that as well...

It is Star Trek so there should be a teaser then the credits.

But, Countdown could count as the teaser so it may start with the credit roll.

Either way a credit roll should be near the start. I just hope it isn't too long.

If Abrams does like in his MI:3, he'll put the bombastic theme with the title and then, the rest will follow quietly as we learn about the plot of the movie. quick and effective !
