Credit or Liability?

So, do we credit Rene Auberjonois for playing Chef Louis in Disney's 'The Little Mermaid?' Or do we hold it against him (By which I mean we snicker about it every time he says something serious onscreen)?

As a source of information for those who don't understand what I'm talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuuEDDyvzuE

I am speechless. Were it not for IMDB, I could not believe it. He should've channeled his when playing Odo: Quark would've been too terrified to plan any villainy.

Didn't realise he did so much voice acting in his career.

Isn't "The Little Mermaid" one of the most loved and most successful Disney animated films? Is there something about it I'm missing as to why it would be a terrible thing for Rene to have been a part of...apart from Disney's general evilness.

By 'hold it against him' I mean chuckle and snicker while we imagine Odo singing 'Les Poissons' and twirling an imaginary mustache.

He's just an actor. This was a different (and fun-sounding) job. He didn't have to have all that stuff on his face when recording these lines!

At a con in Glasgow about 10 years ago, Rene actually sang that song on stage - great moment for all us Disney/Trek fans!!
Credit due indeed.

He has got one of the most unique voices in the industry. I don't think having a role in one of the most succesfull Disney films of all time should be held against him. For many Casting Directors, being part of a Disney production is a very prestigious thing on an actor's resume

Good God, if Odo ever did that while Quark was sneaking around, Quark would never ever cross Odo ever again.

^ It's a pretty brief part, I think. I only know because the Nostalgia Critic reviewed it a couple of weeks ago; I haven't actually seen the movie in full.
