Who appears in 2 different star trek series, that in one series was the transporter chief, and the other, the chief engineer?
How many times does Q appear on Star Trek Enterprise.
What is the old Maquis trick to avoid starfleet Tricorders?

Ok so with that out of the way that is the first part of this 3 part game that i am creating, it will intertwine Trivia, with standard board game (moving spaces) and a card game (similar to warhammer). Each will have its own board so the game will be fold-able, think of it as one board to the left, that board will hold event, and trivia cards, a hightened middle board (the battle arena) will include plastic ships, and a space like decal, to represent space battles, and to the right of the heightened board, the board game portion of the game allowing you to move spaces, which link to the first board, so you can pick up trivia and event cards.

Im going into immense detail with this game, the trivia questions above would be considered some of the more easily answered questions.. So for the battle portion of the game you will have 3 slots, Crew, consisting of 3 character cards, Weapons systems, consisting of 6 slots 2 weapons, 2 shields, and 2 sensor array cards, and evasive maneuvers, consisting of 3 card slots, once a evasive maneuver card is used it is discarded, and shuffled back into your deck, you can then put down another evasive maneuver card in one of your 3 slots. Your Ship will be chosen in the beginning of the game and will have pre determined stats, these stats will change throughout the game based on correctly answered trivia, event cards, character cards, and certain spaces on the board.

For example, Voyager vs the Borg Cube, when you enter into player vs player battle you choose one of your crew cards to pilot the ship, rarer crew cards will have advantages that give your ship a boost to one of the 3 critical systems, Shields, weapons output, and sensor array. For this scenario we will equip capt Janeway to Voyager, and Lacutus of borg to the borg cube. Here are the stats for each ship

Voyager Power 80 Borg Cube power 100
    shields 20 shields 20
    weapons output 15 / critical hit +5 weapons output 20 / crit hit +2
sensor array +5 after shield failure sensor array 0

Now these will be the standard attributes for each ship before any increases in power through game play, as stated above you will chose one of your 3 crew cards to captain the battle, that characters power and defense will be added to weapons output, and shields (respectively) The goal is to deplete your opponents shields, after that, damage will be taken from the Power of the ship, after battle, you can use repair cards to regain power. character card examples:

    Capt JaneWay
    Power 8
    defense 18
+5 to anti matter reserves (attacks will need anti matter) you will build this each turn, and through trivia, and gameplay)
Janeway only needs you to roll a +3 for a critical hit
+1 to evasive maneuvers ( you can use to evasive maneuvers in one turn )
Last chance: if janeway is about to die roll the dice, if +5 counter attack, add +7 to sensor array

    lacutus of Borg
    power 6
    defense 21
Add a 2nd character cards power only, to Lacutus
+1 power to all character cards.

Ok so here we choose our pilots, out of our best 3 crew cards, so in this case Janeways power and defense will be added to voyagers shields, and weapons output making voyagers sheilds 38 from 20, and its power output 23 with the Critical hit of +5 also voyager will have a critical hit chance of anything above a roll of 3 because of Janeways ability. On the other hand the borg cube's shields will go from 20 to 41, and its power output 26 with the critical hit +2. Here is a what happens to each system after a fatal attack (meaning one of the 3 systems is down to zero)

fatal hit to Weapons = Players cannot attack next turn, interrupt cards can be used to speed up repair time.
Fatal hit to shields = Next attack can be doubled with a dice roll above 7 (22 sided dice)
Fatal hit to sensor array = players cant make any actions, skip their turn and attack again, or roll for retreat.
*** hits to the sensor array, will be taken from shields first, a fatal hit to the sensor array cannot be achieved until shields have failed on your opponents ship.

3 slots, so we went over the crew slot, lets go over the weapons system slot, and give an example of a card, and its anti matter cost. You will start with an anti matter reserve of 22, that can be added to or subtracted from based on board moves, and trivia.

    Photon torpedo (cost 1)
    Increase ships weapons output.
    +5 to attack

heres an example of a shields card:

    magnetic containment field (cost 3)
Increase ships hull +15 to shields

    now a scanner array card:

    the deflector array (cost 2)
increase ships scanner capacity +5 to sensor array

    ***Lt class cards (uncommon)

    Defiant class hull (cost 5)
Increase ship power by 20 and shields by 10

When entering battle you will choose one card from crew and one from weapons systems to go into battle with, evasive maneuver cards will stay in their slots, and can be played at any time during battle.

    Evasive cards example;

    Lambda Sequence
if you are being attacked, roll the dice, if you roll a +13 your opponents attack is avoided, you take 0 damage, roll a 7-12 and decrease the damage of your opponents attack by half. If this attack is fatal to any system roll, if +15 successfully retreat. (again evasive maneuver cards can only be played once per attack turn, unless a character ability allows you to use 2, and they will not all be this good.

So thats a very brief introduction to the game, i guess the last thing to explain is even cards, and the board itself. The board will consist of 4 quadrants, Alpha, beta, gamma, and delta.. you will not always attack another player, for an example you rolled a 3 moved 3 spaces picked up an event card, "move to the center of the board, you are now on the Klingon border, they are not answering hails, Red alert, prepare for battle, 15 birds of prey approaching, star-fleet has sent 12 reinforcement ships" now this would be your ship, your crew card, and weapons card, + 12 reinforcement starfleet ships, which will have pre determined stats. Game play like this will be different than player to player game play, im tweeking this aspect now. Another event card might read "3 jem Hadar ships have come through the wormhole, attack, or observe?" this event card (on the back) will tell you the outcome of each move you make, so if you engaged it would say, the 3 ships were a decoy DS9 is under attack by 5 brein ships, first attack is theirs. If you observed "you avoided a trap, the 3 jem hadar ships seemed to turn around, move 3 spaces" An even card can also throw you to a new quadrant with new enemies, The Dominion, the Klingons, the kazon, the jem hadar, starfleet, the brein, romulan, borg, cardassian, etc. this can happen by picking up an event card like " youve encountered a temporal anomaly, move to the delta quadrant." and move 2 spaces."

Any ideas for character cards, evasive maneuver cards, shields, sensor array, ship ideas, etc please feel free to add to this thread this is going to be an amazing game for only the most serious of Star Trek Fans, IT WILL BE THE MOST INTENSE GAMEPLAY YOUVE EVER EXPERIENCED !!! I dont even care about the money, i just want to make it for people who are as passionate about Star Trek as i am, and i know you all are! Also sorry for spelling this is alot, and im typing quickly.
