Never understood why he hasn't been on, or written for, the show. Especially when his old friend and bandmate Capaldi was playing the part.
I remember one episode where Hayley Atwell was on and they ended up talking about how some of her earliest work doing Big Finish audios, to the bemusement of 99.9% of the audience.

Bloody 'ell, I forgot all about that one. His show had jumped the shark before that point, but I kept watching anyway. Loves me some Craig! 
But, wow, that was a tad cringeworthy even back then. But it's probably less cringeworthy than an actor playing a vet and having to shove his hand up a cow (guess which part) while filming a fiction show about veterinarians!
But we've seen it before, where comedic actors do put out great serious performances; comedy is arguably harder than regular drama, other comedy writers can do serious drama, so it would be cool to see a script by him directly.
