Watched nearly the entire series in the last week or so. I almost died from too much laughing but alas I am finally down to one episode. The show is the funniest I've ever seen since Seinfeld.

So who are your favorite characters from the show? Choose a guy and a girl.

Jeff and Jane for me. Jeff with his nsane theories and conversations with attractive women. Jane with her unbounded narcissism.

Poor Steve. Left out of the original poll. :(

Anyways, as I said in the faulty thread, usually I would say Jeff and Susan, but since seeing Jekyll, I have a new appreciation for Gina Bellman, so now I say Jeff and Jane. However, Steve and Susan is my favorite couple.

I agree with EMH... Steve and Susan are my favorite couple and while I love Steve (his diatribes on cushions and natural childbirth are pricelss) I'd have to say Jeff is my favorite male character. Susan is an absolute doll (apparentLY).

Of course as a sci-fi geek I will always have a soft spot for Oliver.

Was James the Christian radio guy?

Yes James was the Radio guy.

My problem with Oliver was that he was brought in on the fly. I don't think anyone could've replaced Jeff properly but Oliver certain had his moments i.e. talking with a giant Dalek action figure.

Susan and Steve (though Jeff is pretty damn close as well). Steve wins for his big speech in Inferno, it cracks me up every time. ;)

All of Steve's rants are classics (porn, potpourri, women's shoes, "where are you going?", sofa parasites and probably a few others I can't recall since it's been awhile since I watched the show).

Probably Jeff and Jane for me too. I thought Oliver was great once they got away from him being a "Jeff replacement" and became more of his own character. But Steve and Susan probably come second though.

Jane was the insane one, right? She was hilarious. Her best moment was the sock puppet episode where she actually got into an arguement with the damn thing. Wow.

And Jeff for the guys, no question.

I love that argument. Pure brilliance on Gina Bellman's part. :guffaw:

Male: Jeff. He was the comedy crux of the show. Without him, the whole system broke down. He was, by far, the character the show could least afford to lose & they lost him. :(

Female: Jane. I actually think she was the nicest woman on the show. She may have been a bit self-absorbed but only in a good-natured, harmless way. I was always bothered whenever Susan would put her down. And Sally was just way too self-loathing for me.

Awesome now just vote in this updated thread. I thought that one would've been deleted by now but apparently TV&M mods generally speaking are absent most of the time. :)

I cheated and chose both Jane & Sally.

Well, actually I mis-clicked and picked Jane & Susan. But I was thinking of Sally. :p

For guys, it was Jeff, no question. Absolutely one of the funniest characters I've ever seen on television, period.

For the ladies, I'd have to go for Susan. Good character, well-acted, played the straight-woman role perfectly against Sally and Jane. And Sarah Alexander is absolutely gorgeous. ;)

As an aside, did anyone ever seen the (thankfully) short-lived American version? It was cancelled after, like, one episode. Interestingly, it used the original show's script almost word for word, but it just didn't work in an American setting with American actors. In fact, it just seemed painfully stupid. Whereas the British version was f*cking brilliant.

Interesting factoid: She was in the "Nude Practice" sketches on the old Armstrong and Miller comedy show, a few years ago - basically, the sketches had lots of Austin Powers style "hide the nudie naughties with cunningly placed objects" tomfoolery. Except for the last few seconds of the final sketch, when Sarah and Ben Miller went full frontal.

'Tis true.

:D

Ther was something about Sally that I always liked. Though Jane was second.

Jeff had to be the choice for the guys. Especially wondering why they just told him to go with the laxatives since he didn't realize he still had a gimp mask on :)

I've heard about that. Still haven't seen it.

Yet.
