Countdown #3 Preview (Spoilers)

Chapters has the TPB listed for release April ...so who knows if that is the date or if it will be pushed back a bit.

In the trailer Nero says "i've been waiting for this my whole life". Which might refer to the destruction of Vulcan. But if we go by the comics then his hate of Vulcan is only recent.

If, for him, a significant amount of time has passed, the phrase may well be apropos (as, when invoked, it often does not include one's pre-adult years).

Remember also that in the trailer, it's a voice over when he says that. The scene in which he actually says that line may be completely different from when he destroys Vulcan.

What do you think he was waiting for?

I don't know, but I do know that trailers often use lines out of context. For example, in the original trailer for the TNG pilot that was attached to STIV video tapes, Riker says "I've never seen a ship like this before," intercut with interiors of the Enterprise-D. However, in the actual pilot, the line refers to the jellyfish ship in the episode.

I've kind of kept myself out of the loop with this comic but I finally read issues 1 and 2 and I'm really sold! I was completely drawn in and only sad that almost NONE of this will make it into the movie directly. Issue 3 sounds amazing! Its been many years since I read a ST comic and I was really impressed overall.

I thought of that later, but even if it is not out of context, it could still work as I describe. Of course, I'll let the actual movie make the final determination.

Is it me, or did the ALIEN universe just invade Star Trek?

On pages 10-11, note how the Romulan ship "The Vault" looks strikingly like the Nostromo, the towing vehicle from ALIEN.

An on page 12 when Commander D'Spal shows Nero the armory with the borg weapons, there is a ton of ALIEN stuff going on. You can see that the Alien's tail is a huge inspiration since they're crawling all over the place. Also note in the long shot of the armory in the middle panel, it looks almost like an alien nesting on the ceiling.

The only ones left for issue #4 are: Troi, Riker, and Crusher. Do you think we will see all three of them? Maybe the Titan? What do you think the cliffhanger will be, and do you think TNG stars will be in the movie at the beginning?

TrekMovie sources said "NO".

I would like to download this one, this comic is not for sale in Brazil.

Anyone notice how the Jellyfish is in Trailer 3? Do you think that's the end of the movie (old Spock kamakazi with Geordi's ship)?

Wow...wasn't expecting that final page!!! This has got to be my favourite trek comics and I'm not really into the Trek Comics, big Trek fan and comic book fan but they've sucked in my opinion over the years. Both the story and art work in this though are really good. The end of April is what i thought i saw on Chapters...so it will still be out in TPB before the movie comes out.

I read them again...I liked it even better. I think the naysayers of the movie should be forced to read them!! At gunpoint, or perhaps RAMA point.
