It depends on the era where the Jedi came from, and the type of training the Jedi has. Come to think of it, would the Jedi be allowed to have his or her lightsaber on his or her person? From what I can recall, a "classical Jedi" uses only his or her lightsaber, while a non-classical would use a lightsaber as either a last resort or when facing a Sith. I could be wrong, though...

Of course a Jedi could serve in Starfleet, why not? But I don't think he can keep his lightsaber with him, for the same reason that Worf can't keep his bat'leth with him.

There's no general reason why a Jedi couldn't serve in Starfleet.
He does sometimes use his mek'leth when on duty.
I see no reason why not.

Apart from the 'A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away' bit, we have to accept that Star Wars is in another universe so I'd say probably not! But then again that has never stopped the crews of ENT and DSC has it?

If Jedi can be officers in the Republic military during the Clone Wars, then I don't see why they could't serve in Starfleet if they ended up in the Starfleet uniform. We've seen people use non-standard weapons, like Worf's Mek'leth, while on duty so their lightsaber would probably be OK.
Only if:
1) The Jedi wants to.
2) The Jedi can travel far in space and time and into an alternate universe to reach Starfleet.

3) The Jedi can either fill the requirements for serving in Starfleet or else use the force to convince the weak minded that he has.

I say thee nay. Nor would they want to. They could and probably would work out an agreement, however, their Jedi oath and belief system would preclude them from extending the declaration of loyalty and fidelity that Starfleet would require and Starfleet would not extend to them the level of authority and autonomy they would likely require.
