Was it Michael Dorn?
It was probably Will Wheaten. THeres another thread talking bout how much voice acting he did for the movie.
How do you know?
But Memory Alpha says that the voice was that of J.J. Abrams, altered. How do you know?
The IMDB says it was an actor named Jeremy Fitzgerald.

I've seen that reported somewhere else recently, as well. It may be stated in the Extras. [Edit: ST-One is thinking of the same thing, looks like.]
A little electronic or digital signal processing can easily render even the most familiar voice unrecognizable. These toys can be fun to play with. But Memory Alpha says that the voice was that of J.J. Abrams, altered. The IMDB says it was an actor named Jeremy Fitzgerald.

I was gonna shout out in protest when I read the voice is JJ's, but then I saw the word "altered".
I've listened to that man's voice so often via dvd commentaries I'd recognise it anywhere and anytime.![]()
Maybe there's an outtake somewhere with the hovercop doing a filtered version of that human beatbox thing J.J. does. Maybe someone will fabricate one.True, but it would have made me soooooo happy to hear that cop say something and recognise JJ's voice. I'd have squeed right there and then!Though I guess he sounds too easy-going for a badass robocop.
It's the little nerdy things that make life worthwhile.
He, he. I'm watching the movie again as well! It's at the orbital skydive scene.
See I was just thinking the cop could've been Pike. With how these meetings happened in the movie, It very well could have been a 20 -30 something Officer Christopher Pike. Don't most Naval officers have backgrounds in the Police Force?
It didn't sound anything like Michael Dorn (or Michael Dunn, for that matter).
