Cool Trek kits?

There are reams of posts about familiar ship model kits that we've had and hopefully will soon have. But just for fun lets try something else. I got this idea from another thread.

What other models would it be rather cool to see from Star Trek? They could be lesser known ships or sets or figure kits or whatever. And it doesn't matter if the likelihood of ever seeing such a kit produced is next to zilch.

I'll list a few to start even if some of these I might not be that particularly interested in.

- The Talosian Keeper
- Captain Christopher Pike
- "The Cage" era laser pistol
- WNMHGB phaser rifle
- A Gorn
- Klingon Commander Kor
- Klingon Captain Kang
- Nomad
- A Vendorian (from TAS' "The Survivor")
- A Phylosian (from TAS' "The Infinite Vulcan")
- A Skorr (from TAS' "Jihad")
- An Andorian
- The Doomsday Machine (not in scale obviously)
- Kirk in his command chair
- The Transporter Room (preferably with figures)
- The TOS Enterprise Hangar Deck.
- The TMP refit Bridge
- The TNG Bridge

Well, that's a start. Anyone else? And it needn't be strictly from TOS alone.

^^ I didn't know that, but then I'm thinking of the more traditional plastic or resin type model kits.

KHAAAAAAANN!!!

Okay, I don't really care for a Khan Noonien Singh kit, but somebody had to throw it out there so here it is.

How about the Regula One station from TWoK?

If I could buy a cheap as chips vacformed FC phaser rifle kit, i'd be in heaven.

UFP : Chandley and Baker from FASA RPG

Klingon: 2009 Movie Klingon Warship

Romulan: well technially its Reman the Scimitar

Other non Trek: Ryo-ohki's Starship form (Tenchi Muyo!)

^ The Scimitar would either be massively complicated or look like crap.

Along similar lines, Nero's ship.

AFAIK nobody has done a model of the pre-remaster Eyemorg ion ship-- the slick little retrofuture-looking thing that was only on the screen for a few moments. I've never even seen a photo of the actual physical model that was used. I think it would be fun to see whether that thing was really clunky in 3D or as 1950s cool as it appeared in grainy 2D.

I'd also like to see a model of the remastered Gorn ship as well as that little Medusan courrier.

Finally, a "Major Matt Mason" group of figures and props based on Kirk in his EVA suit, all in Mego scale. The hand phaser and rifle and other hand helds. Add ons could be pulled from Jefferies' trove of drawn but unused stuff, like the range of service vehicles he designed. Cochrane's hut from "Metamorphosis" would be a good start for a Matt Mason-esque base station!

In the way of figures, I'd like to see an edoan (i.e. Arex from TAS).

As far as ships, a kit of the Akyazi class perimeter action ship from Ships of the Star Fleet would be spiffy. Especially if you had parts included to build any of the three variant designs (Akyazi, Arbiter, Akula).

TREK:

-The Executive Shuttle from TUC
-The Phoenix/Bonaventure warp ship background model from DS9 (the one with the radiation shroud and the orange command capsule)
-Remastered Gorn Ship

TREK NON-CANON

-The "future Enterprise" painting Probert made after (or during?) TMP
-Unused smexy Matt Jefferies shuttlecraft design (the one that was too expensive to build)
-Kzinti Darkstalker

NON-TREK:

-The SSV Normandy SR-1 (Mass Effect)
-Quarian ship (Mass Effect 2)
-Samus Aran's Gunship (Metroid Prime)
-UNSC Frigate (Halo 2, 3, ODST, Reach, etc)
-Kushan Mothership (Homeworld)
-Hiigaran Interceptor (Homeworld2)
-Harbor Ship Bentus (Homeworld2)
-VB-02 Vertibird (Fallout2)
-Hughes P-21J Devastator (Crimson Skies)

How about the Regula One station from TWoK?

Even better, there could be a kit of the Space Office Complex Thingamajig from TMP, and Regula One could be an alternative build option.

I volunteered to WANT to make those kits IF I was independently wealthy!

I'm workin' on the latter. I'm buying some lottery tickets today.

  • Bridge from "The Cage"
  • 1:8 scale Orion 'Vina' from "The Cage"
  • NCC-1701 engine room (can be built either as 1- or 2-deck version)
  • 1:8 scale Nomad
  • 1:8 scale Pike in action pose
  • 1:25 scale Galileo shuttle w/ base and figures (standing and sitting poses both included)
  • "The Women of Star Trek" busts designed by Adam Hughes - let him add his own style to them rather than being totally realistic or accurate ;). Available painted or unpainted.
  • 1:1000 scale Crossbow-class ( )
  • 1:25 scale soundstage kits of TOS - each room and corridor available separately, all interlock appropriately ;).
  • 1:12 scale Harry Mudd, his women, the Alice androids, all with appropriate bases that interlock to form a set
  • 1:12 scale Cyrano Jones, Koloth, pile of tribbles with interlocking bases
  • 1:25 scale Jupiter 8 model (could also be under its real name, the Reactor). Maybe a set with a 1930s phaeton from "A Piece of the Action" :D.
  • 1:12 scale Gorn

1:12 scale Lt. M'Ress kit compatible with the vintage Spock model, three tails emerging from a hole that "ensnare" a very defiant Caitian (special instructions for customizing a "torn" uniform ;))

Actually, this suggestion went over rather well at the StarShip Modelers forum. Who knew?

Sincerely,

Bill
