cool pic of the 10th & 11th Doctor

That's neat...I had wondered if they just put Smith into Tennant's costume for the regeneration or if they had another identical one for him...I guess it was the latter...

I'd bet they have a few of the brown suits, not just one or two.

As for the photo, pretty cool!

Y'know I brought this up over on GB, and someone mentioned that on the TEOT commentary, RTD mentioned that they did take some pics together and that they'll pop up at some point. Lord I hope so.

is it wrong of me to hope that Tennant left a recording for his future self, which we will see in episode 1 of the new series?

After seeing the TARDIS auto-messages in "Parting of the Ways" and "Blink," I've kind of hoped that one day we'd see an old one pop up with an earlier Doctor. On the other hand, maybe it's like setting up a DVD player for me, and he enjoys the routine of rerecording all of his messages after he regenerates.

Actually I suspect is more a case of the Tardis creatign the recordings itself from a scan of the current Doctors appearance.
But I know what you mean. I love those rare references to previous Doctors when they pop up (Like the recorder left lying on the auxilliary control room console back in Tom Bakers day).

The same thought has occurred to me as well.

What is great about it being a recording is that a small bit of distortion and computer effects helps hide a lot of aging. Peter Davison or Sylvester McCoy with their hats ON could very easily pass for their younger selves if the recording was brief and had a little help from computer added static and polishing.

Also, as far as the whole "actor has aged" problem, this is now very easily explained in any reappearance by a former Doctor as a time differential misfire. McCoy or even Tom Baker can show up and say, "What the? The time differential seems to have hit me rather hard for some reason!" and then just move the hell on with the story.

I'm just going to close my eyes for a second and imagine an Eight Doctors story with Tom Baker, Davison, Colin Baker, McCoy, McGann, Eccleston, Tennant and Smith...

Ahhh... :D

yes ive always wondered if the show could use footage from the Classic series, and possibly a new voice track to create holograms of the past Doctors, im sure if you gave the Mill a blank cheque, they could create a 3D CGI model of a Doctor from footage in the classic series, they hologram it up a bit, the actors comes in to record some lines, it should look good. Even if they dont spend alot of time making the mouth movements match the words being said, the Doctor can explain that by saying its broken, hence why the older recordings are showing.

Did anyone read the DWM strip "The Time of My Life" where the Doctor watches a recording made by Donna? after "Journey's End" that was touching, and a good use of the hologram.

One of the two best Doctor Who comics ever.

The best, in my opinion, is "The Land of Happy Endings" with the eighth Doctor and his grandchildren John and Gillian.
