Cool picture. It just occurred to me we've never seen a similar photo of Eccleston and Tennant together. I wonder if they filmed their regeneration sections separately? Looks here that Tennant and Smith either did theirs during the same session or (quite possible) that Tennant happened to be in the studio doing something else.

Since we know Tennant did his video diaries for the finale, which will be included in the box set, it'll be cool to see if he captured this moment with his own camera. (Bonus if he managed to recruit Georgia Moffett to be his cameraperson like he did with Sophia Myles back in Season 3...)

it looked on Confidential that David Tennant was around for the filming of the 11th Doctor, and really why wouldn't he be, he would want to pass on his best wishes to Matt Smith, and see something that his fan boy self could only dream of seeing years ago, the first moment of the 11th Doctor.

Yes, Watch confidential for the final episode. Tennant films the scene then they call for Smith (who is also dressed in the same outfit) on the was from the trailer to the set smith meets RTD for the first time then continues on to the set. for that pic I think tenneant must have come back to the set or was always hovering around to see matt getting filmed.

Yeah, there were weeks in between Eccleston's scenes and Tennant's first line. When he was shooting, it was just him and a tennis ball at Billi Piper's eyeline.

There's a nice bit in the Confidential where RTD says that when he saw Matt Smith in Ten's clothes, for a moment he wanted to ask him why he was wearing David's suit.

Eccleston's last scene was filmed on 4th March, Tennant did his bit on 15th April. That's why instead of Eccleston regenerating into Tennant, you get a sort of weird, CG'd Tennant turning into the real one.

Is the Sarah-Jane Adventures made in the same studio? If so, it would be fairly easy for them to meet as his last filmed scenes as the Doctor was for that series.

that is actually a good point, I assume they filmed the TARDIS elements of TWOSJS before End of Time Part 2. I dont think they are going to rebuild the TARDIS set just for SJA.

It's from the Confidential. They put up some footage of Smith mugging for the Confidential cameras while RTD was saying he wasn't sure if it'd be weird for him having the Confidential crew in there on his first day.
