Maybe a little off topic but its lit-related, honest.

Does anyone maintain a descent list of ST conventions that feature authors? After diving so deeply into the books the last couple years and talking to everyone here I think it would be fun to meet some of you guys.

The big con for ST authors is the annual Shore Leave convention in Baltimore, which is held in July.

These lists cover a lot more than just Star Trek. Check them out, though, and you're certain to find something in your neighborhood.

This event is probably the closest thing to Shore Leave in the UK (and I'm pretty sure there will be some Trek writers at it...)

Ooh, FedCon - I'd love to do one of them, I hear they're very cool...plus my girlfriend is a German-speaking Trek fan, so for her it would be like the ideal holiday...

Actually, I was smart enough to make sure Cross Cult agreed to provide me with a translator/assistant for the duration of my visit. So, aside from "Ich bin ein Trekker," I won't be attempting any Deutsch.

Perhaps Jamie Costas simply wasn't interested in going to conventions; Star Trek was probably just one small piece of her editorial workload.
