Constitution/Constellation hybrid?

Mr. Laser Beam

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
I once saw a ship in one of the Trek comics that looked like a Constitution-class ship, but with its nacelles and their support pylons removed, and the top two nacelles from the Constellation grafted onto the saucer. I think it was called the Marco Polo. My questions:

- What class name (if any) was established for this ship?
- Did it appear anywhere else other than the comic? Was it one of the kitbashes in BOBW II / Unification?

I believe you're referring to this design, which was the comic's attempt to depict the Challenger Class USS Buran from W359. At that time Mike Okuda had not provided the details which have since clarified the actual wreckbashes seen in TNG, and have demonstrated that the Challenger is actually an entirely different design.

I don't recall if it ever appeared in any other source, but before Okuda gave more details it was a popular candidate for the Buran in some fan circles. This TNG comic appeared in '91.

Here's another variant which sounds like what you're looking for:

A design by John Gurzick

Then there's this (the Constellation/Miranda variant that I believe Patrickivan was talking about):

This one that was shown in other links:

An Ambassador variant:

and finally this one:

The one shown here:
