Just to clarify - yes I remember the one in Emissary.

I was referring to the big fleet battles where we regularly have claims to have seen an Ambassador (like in the opening of the battle in TOTP) but in fact its a squishy Excelsior.

I've noticed something I can't identify. Saw it in a rerun of Season 5 'Call To Arms' last night on Virgin1.

What is it? It's looks very Constitution-like, but my first thought on viewing the episode was that it could be a Sovereign seen from an angle that made the saucer look circular rather than oval. However, on closer examination, the secondary hull looks wrong for either class.

It's a Steamrunner-class (second from the bottom on this page). A lot of people think it looks like a Constitution from that angle.

I won't pretend to know for sure (See the tag line), but I think those of you saying it was not a Constitution Class (I assume that's the same ship as the Enterprise?) are wrong.

I just saw the episode in question...It's the one where they fist go up against the automatically firing thingies that the Cadasians and Dominion put out there...I think the same episode where Jadzia is killed...During the battle, a ship goes across the screen that looks exactly like the Enterprise (And no it's not a Steamrunner).

I only know this because I've got DirecTV and their version of TVo and played the scene over and back again a number of times because it was cool looking, seeing all the star ships getting taken-out with phazers going all the way through their hulls and stuff.

I'm pretty sure the original poster is right. (And I've looked at some of the screen shots and don't see the ship I'm speaking of...It takes up most of the screen when it does appear).

^ I just rewatched the scenes in question (if we're talking about "Tears Of The Prophets"). There is NO Constitution class ship in those shots. I'd be very surprised to find one in any DS9 episode.

I agree - the deflector appears to be eliptical and there is no sign of the dorsal strut, plus the saucer appears to have the Steamrunner-style structures on it.
