Connor Trinneer to play G.W. Bush in a Tom Cruise movie!

Good for him. It appears he's back in the saddle again. 2015 on he's been pretty busy.

It didn't turn me off him, but it did give the whole show a very weird vibe at the time.
Agreed. I have always thought Conner Trinneer looked like GWB, and I have always thought it was inevitable he would end up playing GWB in a movie or tv show at some point.

I didn't mind Trip, and he had some good episodes, but it was distracting to see a guy who looked so much like Bush, particularly at the time Enterprise was on air. And yet, I found Michael from SGA, quite refreshing, and I never thought of GWB at all. It must be a combination of a physical resemblance, plus the southern accent.

he looked like he could slaughter 1 million iraqi civilians
then do a fat line of coke whilst praying to baby jesus

Keep in mind that anyone can add to the IMDB without any real moderation. It often lists actors in roles, only to retract it. Some tabloid websites even do it themselves, then 'report' on the so-claimed role for an actor to get clicks and readers. Let's wait and see, but he'd make a good Dubya.

Trinneer confirmed it himself, and clearly has been thinking he was a good fit for playing W one day.

Some I really, really love is going to playing someone I really, really hate, in a move whose major star is someone about whom I am really, really apathetic.

I am very confused.

The latest Star Trek magazine has a interview with Connor Trinneer and he talks about playing George Bush and how he auditioned for the role and said the story of Mena was about the Iran contra affair. He also done some other films that he talked about. I saw his Western movie Prey for Death movie on dvd he was really good in that movie.
