Congratulations, Ensign. Captain Janeway has a new job for you.

JanewayRulz!

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Holoprogram designer is now available, since Tuvok and Tom have both been reassigned to other duties.

The job is between you and half the crew.

What top two ideas for new holoprograms on Voyager will you submit to Janeway as part of your application. You can not reuse Sandrine's, the cabanna/beach scenario, Professor Davinici's studio, Insurrection Alpha, Beowolfe, Photons can be Free, or Captain Proton's Adventures, other wise, the sky (or the power supply on the holodeck) is the limit.

Winners will get a week's worth of replicator rations (redeemable only in the Delta Quadrant) and B'Elanna's eternal gratitude.

She was really getting tired of playing "Constance Goodheart".

"Aiyyyeeeeee!!!!"

;)

Captain Janeway,

I propose that we create take a book from Tom Paris's love of the 20th and 21st century and create a replica of a theme park complete with roller coasters. There was one located in Florida called Disney that I think we could replica with a great deal of accuracy. The parks were designed to be an all inclusive experience, and it would be an ideal recreation for long-term use to allow the crew to take extended R&R on the holodeck as the park doubled as a resort.

In addition, I've often wondered if it would be possible to recreate some of the historical battles and events that have happened in the Federation. I would very much be interested in recreating those in a program that would allow a full adventure through our more interesting historical battles. I'm certain Lt. Tuvok would not object to a holoprogram that doubles as training simulator. What better way to keep us all sharp on our skills than to incorporate them into a game simulation?

When I come up with my contest-winning idea, I'm going to use my replicator rations on coffee flavored ice cream to share with "someone". Then y'all will see how sucking up is properly done.

Oh, yeah!

The NX-02, where Janeway will repise the role of Captain Hernadez to make decisions concerning ongoing missions and dilemmas

Captain Janeway,

I wish to submit the following proposition for consideration in the Holdeck Program Design Contest:

The Voyager Olympics

The Voyager Olympics will be a fun filled and educational program designed to boost crew morale through the excitement of athletic competition. Moreover, the program can be used for several other beneficial purposes, as outlined below.

The physical parameters of my program will include two distinct climate zones in order to accommodate both summer and winter outdoor sports. The winter zone will be similar in climate and appearance to Switzerland on Earth, and the summer zone will be modeled on a more temperate climate, such as the American Midwest. (Ensigns Vorik and Wildman will be assisting me in programming a holographic atmosphere that will eliminate the danger of thunderstorms and/or tornadoes forming between the two zones.)

Each zone will feature a number of indoor and outdoor venues where a wide variety of sporting events will be held. I plan facilities for:

Ambu-jitsu
Archery
Bat'leth Competitions
Boxing
Fencing
Golf
Gymnastics (including zero-grav tumbling)
Hoverball
Ice Skating (speed and figure)
Kayaking
Parrises Squares
Ping Pong
Springball
Skiing (downhill and cross-country)
Sailing (hyrdosailing and traditional)
Swimming (various events)
Tennis
Track & Field (various events)
Tsunkatse
Velocity

Other events can be added upon popular demand.

Prizes are TBD pending a discussion with Lt. Torres and Ensign Kim regarding energy consumption. Ideally, medals will be replicated for the winners of each event. However, if such an expenditure of energy is deemed unwise, I am confident that our crew's love of friendly competition will ensure that "bragging rights" will be a sufficient and highly sought-after award.

As you know, the joy of victory and the agony of defeat are only part of what makes the Olympics a special event. I am sure you will agree that the spirit of camaraderie that arises from friendly and honorable competition among athletes from diverse cultures is truly a key part of the Olympic Spirit. In order to foster this sense of brother-sister-and-other-hood, my program will include an Olympic Village Plaza, adjacent to the beach on the "Summer Side". An open air plaza will be surrounded by kiosks featuring food and fun from each of the unique cultures represented within our Voyager family. Crewmembers can stop by the Bajoran kiosk to sample some spicy hasperat, while away a peaceful hour listening to the music of Delvok at the Vulcan kiosk, or engage in many other fun activities while exploring the diversity of our galaxy.

On the "Winter Side", you will find a ski lodge with a Great Hall suitable for large gatherings. A dance floor will be flanked on one side by a piano and lounge area, and on the other by a bar & grill. Irish Coffee is a specialty of the house! Along one entire wall of the Great Hall, a massive fireplace will be surrounded by comfortable couches and armchairs suited for relaxation and good conversation.

After the official competitions are over, my program will continue to benefit our crew. The athletic facilities can be used for general recreation. Many of them, particularly the martial arts suite, will be invaluable for physical training and drill. And of course, social functions can be held in the ski lodge. Imagine the happy crew spending Ancestor's Eve enjoying dancing and champagne in the Great Hall. Besides its festive ambiance, this facility has another important advantage - it can accommodate the entire crew at once. No longer will we have to pack ourselves into the Mess Hall like Bolian Sardines, or attend the annual Prixin party in shifts.

I am extremely enthusiastic about this opportunity to use my holo-programming skills for the benefit of the entire crew. Thank you for taking the time to consider my proposal.

Sincerely,
Lt. G-----, Security Division

:D

Now that is MAJOR LEAGUE sucking up, as I'm sure the Captain would agree. :guffaw:

The Voyager Olympics

Lt G.... if everyone is on the holodeck at the same time competing and/or revelling in the Olympic "spirit", who's going to run the ship?

Oh.

I see your fiendish plan.

With everyone IN the holodeck, you and the Captain will have the ship to yourselves to play whatever "indoor sports" you care to play. Together. Alone. With no Seven, or Chakotay, or Gosh forbid NEELIX to interfere.

(I won't tell Admiral Hawthorne! ;) )

The NX-02, where Janeway will repise the role of Captain Hernandez to make decisions concerning ongoing missions and dilemmas

Finn, the Captain wants to confirm one thing before considering your plan.

Is Hernadez the one who did the horizontal limbo with Archer in that sleeping bag?

If so, then your suggestion JUST went to the top of her short list!

JR, I am shocked that you could suspect me of such ulterior motives. I was only hoping that my crewmmates could really enjoy their holidays together . . . maybe spare Mr. Tuvok the trouble of reciting the Prixin benediction multiple times as party goers rotate in . . . you know, that sort of thing. My motives are as pure as the holographic snow around that secluded hot tub I am designing for the me and the Ca . . . um, for people. Yes. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

If there was an Olympics of some kind, I would think the Captain would want to be in attendance to show support for her crew.

Yeah, and I even included all her favorite sports in case she wants to enter an event herself!

Why does everyone think I have such a one track dirty mind when it comes to a certain someone? Oh, yeah, 'cause I'm always doing this: :adore: and uh, this: . I guess that would contribute to such an impression.

I submit for the Captain's consideration that both of my programs would allow for all participants to come and go as they please from one scenario to another so that, if they were so inclined, they would not feel the need to remain to support the whole group. The Olympics simulation requires teaming, and, should the crewmember want to or need to leave, they could not do so in a timely fashion.

Additionally, my theme park suggestion allows for knooks and "hide away" spots for personal time to enjoy scenic views while sipping freshly made coffee. One location even does the very unique and quite extraordinary French press, which is a delight to any coffee drinker.

I would be happy to show the Captain this location personally.

^ Maybe we should go with the Olympics so that you and I can arm wrestle. :guffaw:

Seriously, you are hilarious! Now I have to think of something to write for the Captain as a rebuttal. Hmmm.

Official Recommendation: The crew of Voyager have been using the same accommodations for several years now. Rather than simply creating games and amusement, it's a change of scene that might make the crew the happiest.

I propose we create a large resort, except one far different than the one we saw from Neelix. A large 5 star hotel complete with suites and spectacular views for the crew, nearby a beautiful lake, with a small island perfect for camping trips.

This will give the crew the opportunity to be pampered or get a much more simple existence, giving the crew a chance for a change of pace on different levels.
