Confirmed: Isis was NOT Victoria Vetri

So, speaking of Isis and why they would hire Ms. Tatro, I went to the scripts. Interestingly she appears to have been a late addition. There's no such character/cat mentioned in the early drafts, but in the final draft there's this.

Roberta trails her words as she sees:
165 ROBERTA’S P.O.V. – ACROSS ROOM 165

A beautiful woman, black hair, sleek black dress, and
jeweled choker necklace, entering the room. She has almost a
feline grace as she sits on the couch, curling her legs up
under her.

SEVEN’S VOICE
Living here will be no threat to your
20th Century moral code, Miss
Lincoln...
So, the screen directions called for her to come into the shot and curl up her legs as she seats herself, so they probably hired Tatro as a dancer and contortionist to be able to evoke these graceful feline movements. It's possible this action was filmed and only the shots of her seated remain, but minus film frames that's unprovable.

I told my off-board friend about Isis being identified. When he read that April Tatro was a contortionist, he said they should have had her lift her leg up over her head and lick it like a cat. But I think NBC would have said no to that shot.

I wonder if Roddenberry sold off the film clips to a fan in the 70s.

In her interview with Larry Nemecek she said she's not really that much into scifi, let alone Star Trek circles!

That cat they used for Isis was a beauty! In that picture where she is sitting on Robert Lansing's shoulder she looks so intelligent! :)

I read "somewhere" that two cats were employed for this episode, one of them actually male.

Suddenly I'm thinking of those stock shots of the Enterprise, intercutting between the 2nd pilot version with "vents" at the rear of the nacelles and "balls" upon the production era model. Funny that it might be applicable here!

I recall reading that they used three black cats. The "hero" cat -- the one that got the most screen time -- had apparently taken a liking to Robert Lansing, so they used that one a lot.

That's what I remember as well but I don't recall the source.
