Concerts you missed out on.

I missed out on so many concerts just this recent summer that i really wanted to go to. I had tickets for iron maiden but something came up so that sucked a whole new level of ass, and a lot of my favorite bands were in town this summer.
Bands that played in Denver,CO that i missed out on in 2010:
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Iron Maiden
Tool
Primus
Rush
Gov't Mule

Hey fellow Denverite!
I have NEVER seen Rush in concert and feel like I've really missed out on them.
Aside from Rush, there are no other concerts that I feel like I I've missed out on. I saw a ton of concerts when I was in high school/college in the 80s and 90s.
The cost is so much higher now I just can't justify it that much anymore. I paid $20 to see Springsteen at Mile High in 1985, and I was on the floor, about 50 feet from the stage.

Hello. I hear old mile high stadium had some great concerts in its day. Rush was at red rocks this year. Unfortanately i have only been to red rocks during the day.

I missed Pink Floyd's "Division Bell" tour in '94 as I was travelling overseas (dammit!) and I missed Metallica in '95 for the same reason.

I missed Queen in '85 as I was considered too young to go. (I was at High School at the time...)

Let's see. I missed:

Led Zeppelin, Sydney, Feb 72 - I was too young.
Queen, Sydney, 1976
Police, Sydney, 2008

But I did get to see Purple in 85 and 2002. And I did see AC/DC in 74, which was cool.

I hate you too.

I missed part of a concert once. It was the Black and Blue tour. Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath (w/Ozzy) and Molly Hatchet. It rained and there was an incident involving the Hatchet guitarist, electricity and rainwater so they canceled the show 20 minutes in. When the tour came back I had to work. :(

I remember really looking forward to this certain show at this club that the performer often performed in. Unfortunately he had to cancel it, and the club owner said that he'd likely come again soon. He died months later. It was Jeff Healey :(

I didn't even know Genesis did a reunion tour until almost 2 years after the fact (of course I was going through a nasty divorce at the time, but still...)

So sad. Recently discovered his work. It's lots of fun.

Yeah, I've been really inspired by him. He had a rare cancer that blinded him at a young age, and nobody thought he'd survive beyond a certain age, but he was still rocking years later. It was only until recently that he succumbed to his illness. He was pretty badass. I still need to pick up his last album.

I really like this performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikHI7_PMFNc

I have missed:

Led Zeppelin- Sydney cricket grounds, 1972- I wasn't born for another ten years. Dammit!

Iron Maiden- 2008

Dream Theater- 2009

Opeth- 2009

I have seen KISS, The Who, and Porcupine Tree though. All well worth it.

I'd see Rush if they ever toured down here.

^ And I'd be right there beside you!

Slightly off topic:I'm trying to persuade Classic Rock (Sydney) to play Rush, because no one in Australia does, and it would fit right into their format. If you have time, post something on their website, and tell your friends. :)

When I was living in Australia I brought some Rush tapes with me (yes it was that long ago!) and nobody liked them. I mean...nobody!

Where were you guys when I needed you!

The ONLY reason i didn't see rush was because they played on a school night and i do not have cool parents. Oh well only 4 more months until i am out of the house.

My first concert should have been Led Zepplin. I had tickets to the Tucson, AZ show. And John Bonham died. So I saw Mel Tillis at the state fair for my first show, instead. NOT a fair trade-off. :(

Sorry.. The Mel Tillis comment made me giggle.. Reminds me of my first "concert" - Jerry Reed at the Lincoln Nebraska Home Show, following hot on the heels of "Smokey and the Bandit."

I missed out on Maiden this summer, but from what I hear, it wasn't that great.. I've seen them a couple times in the past couple of years, so I wasn't too disappointed.

ABQ doesn't get many of the huge shows. It's been a million years since the Mighty Met came to town.

I regret missing out on a great line up in Aachen back in 1992
The Ramones
The Pouges
Concrete Blond
and
Urban Dance Squad.

That would have been a great show.

Jordi Savall was in Seattle last year. Of course that would have been a several hour drive.

Last Fridays 30th anniversary of The Wall by Rodger Waters
or as a Co-worker and other who saw it it was a Show not a concert

Best show I've ever seen.

And yes, the production was unbelievable. It was definitely more than a concert.

Anyone who missed this tour should feel bad.

;)

I was not going to pay Scalper prices of up to $600 for seats worse than My co-worker had plus ferry and Hotel at this time of year, so I'm not feeling that bad.
