Concerts you missed out on.

I missed out on so many concerts just this recent summer that i really wanted to go to. I had tickets for iron maiden but something came up so that sucked a whole new level of ass, and a lot of my favorite bands were in town this summer.
Bands that played in Denver,CO that i missed out on in 2010:
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Iron Maiden
Tool
Primus
Rush
Gov't Mule

Anyone else also have a particular streak of bad luck? :sigh:

Not over so short a course of time, but I have managed to miss Metallica on pretty much every occasion they've played here for the past ten years.

Sold out in days? That's actually rather slow. During the first batch of Springsteen shows last year, they sold out in a matter of minutes.

I was supposed to see U2 this summer, but they postponed the show due to Bono's back surgery. It was rescheduled for next summer.

Then yesterday I found out the reschedule date conflicts with an annual conference I have to attend in Washington DC.

So I'm going to miss both dates and have to sell my tickets.

:scream:

PS: If it was Rush, I would have quit my job. I never miss them.

:techman:

My first concert should have been Led Zepplin. I had tickets to the Tucson, AZ show. And John Bonham died. So I saw Mel Tillis at the state fair for my first show, instead. NOT a fair trade-off. :(

I won a full pass to the first US Festival on the radio but my mother wouldn't let me go. I was 15 or so at the time...and a trip to California w/ a 19 yr old friend for 3-4 days was OUT. :(

I completely forgot to try and buy Iron Maiden tickets 2 weeks ago They went on sale at 9am, by the time I remembered at 6pm, the whole tour had sold out save for a few shitty tickets at the back of the arenas.

I will only go to things like that if I can get standing tickets.

I'm on a lower level. It normally is finding out some oldie act played for free at the County Fair after the fact

I actually stopped going to concerts long ago, but I would have loved to have seen Level 42 this year (they returned to the States for the first time in ages).

Oh man..

I really wanted to see John Denver before he died.

And I ALWAYS seem to miss out on James Taylor for some reason. (Wedding, vacation plans, etc) Drives me nuts.

I'm still pissed I missed the Beatles play their rooftop concert...I was only about 2.5+ decades off :(. :D

I haven't been to a concert in over 3 decades.

I remember I was very disappointed when a Chuck Berry concert I had bought tickets to was cancelled, this would have been in 1975. However soon after that, I went to a AC/DC concert ( Bon Scott was still alive) so I consider 1975 to be one hell of a good year as far as my concert-going memories are concerned.

Not trying to rub it in, but Maiden was quite good this year. I've seen them twice. This time wasn't as good as the first time because I don't like their new material as much as their old.

Anyway, I turned down seeing Pearl Jam because I ran out of money one summer. That still bugs me. Their on my short list of must see bands.

Hey fellow Denverite!
I have NEVER seen Rush in concert and feel like I've really missed out on them.
Aside from Rush, there are no other concerts that I feel like I I've missed out on. I saw a ton of concerts when I was in high school/college in the 80s and 90s.
The cost is so much higher now I just can't justify it that much anymore. I paid $20 to see Springsteen at Mile High in 1985, and I was on the floor, about 50 feet from the stage.

AC/DC? check! (five times actually).
David Gilmour? check! (with Rick Wright)
Roger Waters? check! (his DSOTM and The Wall tours)
Jimmy Page & Robert Plant? check!
Aerosmith? check!

I think I'm good.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, I hate you, Ms Chicken...

I have been to see mos bands I have wanted to see. I would loved to have seen The Beatles, The (60s/70s) stones Bowie, Neil Young (still hope) Macca. Would love to see The Libertines again

This year alone I've missed Social Distortion, The Reverend Horton Heat (seen The Rev more than anyone else), Screeching Weasel (couldn't believe I missed this one as I never thought they'd get back together for a tour) and looks like I might miss the Aquabats this Jan., tho I'm still holding out hopes for that one. Got a family event that day...not sure how long it'll go.
