concept art and set photos!

I'd love to see this galactic map in HD. It looks like AU Starfleet have charted the entire Milky Way:eek:

It did make me wonder if all those fans bemoaning superfast trips to Vulcan and Kronos, and speculating that AU Starfleet has some kind of transwarp drive, were onto something.

I'm also wondering if that's a graphic developed for the movie or one temporary one plucked from the internet somewhere? The other screens mostly show clips from STXI.

If you look at the galactic map, to the top right there are a lot of little ship designs, in profile.

The second graphic almost looks like a map of Federation space specifically.

The new Klingons remind me of Cardassians.

And like the Cardassians, you can see savagery in their faces, and nobility too. That's what is should be like. Humans are capable of both great evil and great good, too. I'd love to see a Worf reimagined in this form.

While I dig the design, I like the ones with the beards more. Those remind me a lot of the fancy "new Klingons" from TMP.

I like them both, because I like the variation. It's a reminder to viewers (and also writers) that Klingons are supposed to be PEOPLE, not just interchangeable mooks who exist purely to give Kirk something to shoot at. Some have thick beards and blunt, angular features, others are smooth with pointed chins and ridges that look like horns. And some could almost pass for human if you met them in a dark room.

It would be awesome if their PERSONALITIES were that varied too.:klingon:

True... and agreed on the second point.

All those designs and variations are so cool! Man, I love the new Klingons... I wish we saw more of them. Hopefully next time out.
