Conan's triumphant arrival at TBS (video)

Can't they do both?
you could do, but if you did, you would realise how messed up it is, chucking your support, time & energy behind Conan, who is more than capable of helping himself.

So you've never gone to a music concert, sporting event, movie, or any sort of stage performance?

Those things are all 'messed up' to you?
yes ive done all of those those things, that is just buying a product which is on the market, no campagain of any kind needed.

My hope is that Canadian channels/networks will carry his show, as TBS is now blocked off of Canadian cable/satellite systems.

Not so much blocked, but not carried. We have Peachtree TV, the local Atlanta version of TBS, which is a poor substitute as it doesn't carry the same things as TBS. My guess is that it will appear on the Comedy Network.

Which won't be good, because at least with basic cable (which Conan was on in Canada) the show could be seen. Now, you'll have to get Comedy Network to show Conan, unless his show can also be shown late nights on CTV.

Well, actually, I went looking it up after I posted to see if there was anything new, and there is. It was announced on June 3rd with little fanfare that it will air on CTV. But the kicker? It's going to air at 1AM. I really hope they reconsider the timeslot, because that's even later than what he would have gotten if he had stayed at NBC due to Leno. 1AM is just too late. It's compounded by the fact that they can't play it earlier than the broadcast on TBS, I think, and they don't want to move any of their other winners such as Colbert and Stewart. Regardless, it will appear on the Comedy Network since CTV owns it.

As hard as that is, everybody will have to use their VCR's or PVR's and just record the show that way. At least the show's available on a terrestrial TV network and its local affiliates that can also be picked up by antenna.

Yeah, though at that point, you might as well just stay up and watch it because you'll be watching a day later than it originally airs anyway.

Ok, so when I buy a ticket to go see a concert performance that I love that makes me a bad person.

But when you do the same things it's just "buying a product."

I'm not sure what the difference is, but at least we're clear on how it works.

where did I say that going to a concert was the same as fainting outside of an ABC building, to try and axe a show, that was already axed, due to poor ratings, and something I saw coming the moment it was announced.

Seriously I blame reality TV shows, where you can vote people off them, for making normal people thinking that the networks care what they think.

If communitys had got behind unemployeed people, like people have Conan, we might have alot more people tho whom employment really matters, in work.

Yeah Star Trek got a 3rd series, in this fashion, but back then (to my knowledge) it was a unique case, and no one took it to the extremes they do now.

I spent alot of time learning about the 60s in primary school (I think my teacher just wanted to talk about his youth) and I would rather have been a young adult then, when they protested about stuff that really mattered.

I'm not sure what you're talking about....the OP posted a video of people in Atlanta cheering Conan arriving for his live concert performance. (This was all explained in the thread before you posted.) It was a show I saw when he came to Washington DC. I really enjoyed it. I cheered when I saw Conan. I had a great time.

The people in the video seemed to be enjoying his arrival to the same extent that I enjoyed seeing him. It's really the exact same thing as cheering for Cher or KISS or Nickelback when they get off their tour bus.

After that video was posted you said:

Do people really have nothing better in there lives, and no greater injustices they think deserve some attention?

So if that applies to people cheering in Atlanta then I have to assume it also applies to me in Washington DC. I'm sorry that going to a concert means I wasted my time, but I really enjoyed it and I don't regret it.

I was unaware that spending 3 hours of my life in a concert hall meant I was hurting homeless people (or something) but I really don't see the link.

this is not so much about any one comedy gig Conan is doing, its the "Team Coco" stuff we had after he was fired, and stunts people pull in vain attempts to save axed shows.

And how exactly do you know what these people do when they're not part of "Team Coco"? Perhaps being part of "Team Coco" is a way to let off steam after dealing with the problems of the world. Are you out there fighting the "good fight" 24/7? Or do you take the time to do something fun and useless, like watching a TV show and commenting on it?

I may watch a TV show, but if its axed ill survive, I wont go pulling some stunt to try and save the show, and probaly end up with a sub par series for my efforts.

Still, why does people supporting a show they like bother you to the point that you accuse them of ignoring the unfortunate?

I'm a member of Team Coco. How does that harm you or affect you in any negative way?

So in response you accuse the people involved ( whom you've never meet) of being insentive jerks? Shows get canceled and entertainers get let go all of the time, but rarely is there the sort of organized reponse like "Team Coco". So its not like the news is filled with that sort of thing. So what are you really "tired" of?

Which would be better in a ways since then it wouldn't conflict with stewart and colbert

Refer to my followup post which includes the announcement that it will be on CTV. Either way, it will be on both channels as it explains.

That's messed up, man. The money spent on buying those so called "products" could have been spent on third world countries, fighting homelessness here and on educating women in the Middle East.

People these days have selfish priorities.
