Con joined Twins Share Brain And Feelings

I feel bad for them. The article isn't big on details, but it says that only five twins with that condition have survived to adulthood. It also mentions that one heart beats for both of them, implying that one heart is inoperative or insufficient, which doesn't sound very promising. And it doesn't give any information on how their intelligence or emotions are affected by this condition.

I hope they stay healthy and happy, but I fear they have a hard road ahead.

do you want an answer medically of philosophically? 'cause i can fill the site's bandwidth with the philosophy part... :)

^She should post in the obsession thread I guess.

Okay next time l will try and find something more interesting to post so you will not think l am just posting random things about nothing

Plus l am glad that you have all spoken up it makes me want to try harder ;).

You are right there was not enough news on the subject at hand.

i wish l could have got abit of footage which l did see on the news.

I might still see if l can find it and you will get the real story than just a few words

I couldnt find the clip but l did find more imformation on the twins

Saw the documentary show on cable last night..the girls are 4 and walking and talking...

The brains are connected by neural tissue..and each child can use the eyes of the other..and they can "hear" each other's thoughts...I assume feelings too

The heart of the smaller twin supplies blood for the other girl's brain as well as her own...the larger twin's heart only powers her body, not the brain..however, there was discussed a procedure to tie the 2 circulatory systems together..however it's only in the discussion stages right now...

The girls are 4 and seem rather normal in mental development...

the mother was given the choice to abort the girls and the harder choice of picking one more likely to survive and separating them...she chose the harder route of raising these girls as they are...

Good choice to her..I hope they live a long time..though the odds are very much against that...

Thankyou for writing all this down goldbug.
I am also glad you saw the doco on cable.

i was so amazed in how they cry at the same time plus when one gets a itch the other scratchs it better.

They said also said that when one wants a pencil the other knows some how that the other twins wants it.

I still think it is going to be hard for thenm in the future when they have to set out on there own.

Well, the additional information sounds more optimistic. I still worry about long-term health problems, though. It's pretty fascinating that they can hear each other's thoughts; I'm sure a lot will be learned from them.
