Complete Series 10 Box Set Available for Pre-Order

They get more money with individual releases, so I'm a little surprised they went with a combined S10 set at all.

Time Of The Doctor was a separate release, as were all the S5 and beyond x-mas specials.

I'm glad for the full set, as I haven't bought any S10 blu-rays yet.

I don't see the problem, I would rather have the new Doctor's first appearance be on their first box set and not the last box set of the previous Doctor.

Other than a cameo at the end when he regenerates they're not going to be in it though and I'm pretty certain David Tenant's regeneration and Matt Smith's were featured on the box set featuring their predecessor's. I just think it would be a great way to mark the end of Peter Capaldi's time on the series to include his final episode of the show, it's not like there are any other specials floating around out there for it to be boxed up with.

Parting of the Ways was on the series 1 boxset and End of Time was on the specials boxset. Time of the Doctor was a separate release.

I’d imagine the upcoming Christmas special will be separate as well.

Time of the Doctor was in the 50th Anniversary specials box set, with Name and Day of the Doctor (as well as Night of...), along with Adventures in Time and Space.

Twice Upon a Time will be the first Chrissy special to not get into a box, at the current rate.

It'd be odd to leave it out, especially since its Twelve's regeneration... but maybe they want it to sell independently?

I think that since the upcoming X-Mas special is both a two Doctor crossover and a regeneration they realized that it will make a huge amount of money even on its own. They can always stick it on the Series 11 complete set eventually which by the time that comes out they'll have made a lot of money off of the solo release of the special and will be ok with packaging it.

Yeah, it comes out on the 14th. Not exactly cheap, either. I have a friend I buy Doctor Who DVDs every Christmas but it's getting a bit too steep for my budget. Don't mind the Xmas episode being separate--I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

Amazon also have a Bluray steelbook edition. I have Series One and Two in steelbook when I upgraded to Bluray, but haven't heard anything about Series Three onwards being released in that format yet.

Series One was the only series where The Doctor regenerated outside of a special, IIRC hasn't the Xmas Specials appeared in the following Season's box-set?

Except for the 2009 and 2013 specials, Christmas specials have been included in a series box set. 2009's was part of the Complete Specials set. 2013's was part of the Anniversary box set. Series seven had the preceding and mid-series specials, series 9 had the preceding and following Christmas specials.

I was expecting them to wait a while and release a separate version of "Twice Upon a Time" in February, then include it on the end of the Complete Season 10 in April, much as they did with "The Husbands of River Song" at the end of Season 9 in 2016. But I guess they wanted to have it ready for Christmas. (Or my birthday ;) , which has pretty good timing with both Doctor Who Season 10 and Red Dwarf Season XII, assuming they keep on schedule.)
