Luckily, fans of the series can now relax, as plans for Command & Conquer 4 have been revealed...sort of. Instead of the usual public announcement, the game has apparently been confirmed by a survey from British market research firm 2CV, which lists C&C publisher Electronic Arts among its clients.
Some possible features in the game were mentioned

-Play in epic 5 vs. 5 online multiplayer with all new objective-based game modes.
--Play the campaign on your own or tackle it with a friend, as co-operative campaigns return.
--Introducing the first mobile base in RTS games: The Crawler. Focus on the action as the Crawler becomes your all-in-one base, which can be deployed and redeployed anywhere on the battlefield for even more strategic options.

--Play in the first ever class-based C&C game--a new challenge for C&C and RTS players to master.
--Dive into an all-new story written by a new scriptwriting team and told through trademark C&C cinematics taken to the next level with grittier, stylized FMVs in the vein of Minority Report.
--Play in the first RTS game with MMORPG-like player progression in which you are rewarded every time you play. Every unit you kill in single player, multiplayer, or skirmish gives you experience points that allows you to level up your abilities and unlock new units, powers, and upgrades to your arsenal.
Seems like a natural extension of what they did in Red Alert 3

Almost makes me forget about the loss of Tiberium

I'm not really into C&C, but isn't Tiberium kind of the central element of the non-Red Alert games?

Ahh, I'm referring to the now canceled first person shooter called Tiberium that was supposed to come out sometime this year. It was based in the Command and Conquer universe and was supposed to spin off into a brand new franchise. The game was apparently coming along like crap though so they pulled the plug

Oh! Okay, I thought for some reason they were eliminating tiberium from the Tiberium games. I was all ":wtf:" for a minute there.

I'm just glad that they are going to continue the story arc from 'Tiberium Wars/Kane's Wrath' that ended in what was mostly a cliffhanger. The franchise was in doubt several months ago when 'Tiberium' was suddenly canceled.

I'm guessing that it's going to take some time for this to come out, unless they have been developing it for awhile without prior knowledge.

I was recently thinking about picking up Red Alert 3. Is it any good? What about the expansion?

RA3 is okay, it doesn't look as good as C&C3 and I don't think it is as enjoyable either, prettier women in it though.

As for the expansion, it is only available via download so I haven't got it. It only got very average reviews from most of the sources I've read as well, which doesn't make me want to waste my money on it.

The Terrans would like a word with whomever wrote this.

Awesome. I'm glad they're finishing up the Tiberium storyline. I've been following this series ever since the first game came out. I'm not a big fan of the Red Alert series. In fact I've skipped every RA besides the first one.

I'm actually more interested in the Red Alert series than I am the Tiberium series. Something about the goofiness of RA just gets to me.

I think that's why I never cared for it. RA just seemed absurd. I never got into the universe.

More so than aliens sending nasty rocks to Earth, and coming to Earth, in an attempt to colonize it exterminating mankind in the process. I know.

^The Firestorm add-on for C&C2 might as well. That game had mobile war factories for both sides.

Yeah that made me laugh a little, since there have been mobile bases in several RTSs in the past. Unless they mean that the entire base is mobile as one unit, which would be a bit odd

Yeah, the big thing that made RA3 special was its co-op mode which was ultra fun. They ditched this mechanic for the expansion pack though so its sort of like "whats the point?"
