Comics or Video Games: which medium is geekier?

^It's the limited distribution coupled with the strangeness of many LCS employees and customers.

Hmm, according to that chart, general Comic Book Fans are less geeky than Video Gamers. That doesn't seem right, given the unanimous opinion here.
Actually videogames and comics are on the same level on that chart, there just wasn't enough room to put them side by side.

Also the chart is not meant to directly compare things like Gamers and Comic books, it's designed to list the geekness of different types of gamers, comic book readers, etc.

Plus it's really just a joke about furries.

Comics, however, are a niche product.

Yeah but Video Games when they go into the obsessive, will always have that *loser* label
when I say obsessive I mean people who play grand theft for 24 hrs or people who know everything about World of Warcraft or some shit

You can have people yap over Watchmen, Preacher, Wonder Woman, 2000AD, Ultimates or KingdomCome and instead of sounding like stupid nerdy loser fanboys and fangirls some of them can sometimes actually sound cultured.

I think its like everything, if you do it in moderation its cool but beyond that you enter the *loser* zone

Exactly. I mean honestly you can read a comic book or two in maybe what? 10-15 minutes, lot less time than it takes to play a video game. Hell I can read part of a comic during loading screens on Guitar Hero! BUT I think both can be kinda geeky, video gamers can be really geeky if you let them. I mean who ever heard of someone sitting in a room all day and all night just reading comic books, without a break, peeing in a soda bottle, hopped up on Red Bull or Mountain Dew Game Fuel.? Not many. You can waste HOURS on a video game... comics... not so much.

And let's think about it somewhat logically... comics are exercising more intellectual parts of the brain. Specifically the reading and comprehension sides, as well as stimulating the creative sides with the art work. A good comic will stick with you. But will you remember the last "mission" on a video game ?

Both are geeky and both can be obessive, but I think video gamers can get scarier!
