Comic Companies continue to drive me away...maybe you as well??

Getting rid of the legacy characters and supporting characters cheapens the universe. If things keep up I promise you that Time Drake will be dead, Dick Grayson will be magically turned into a teenager again and will be back in the Robin costume, and Barbara Gordon will be walking again. Fun times!

Gail Simone, before giving up her stint on Birds of Prey, clearly left a back door open for Gordon to get up and walk. In fact, I was a bit surprised when Gordon didn't start waltzing about, as the story all but took us right up to that point. My assumption at the time was they were leaving an option open for her return as Batgirl, as it seemed the Batgirl situation since her departure has been a bit of a mess and resetting the status quo would seem attractive.

Now with a Batwoman in the mix, I'm not so sure.

So, as cynical as it may sound, things happening similar to what you propose wouldn't surprise me at all if they came to pass.

I started this with news of what they are doing to the Batman satellite titles. I just saw the thread where DC plans to kill Bruce Wayne.
I also have run across the updated direct dealer sales of Amazing Spiderman.
Bad stories, Reboots and Restarts along with crazy price hikes are killing the medium.

Amazing Spiderman since the deal with the devil.

Well, to be fair, ASM was helped a lot by the big comic events of the previous year. Brand New Day was huge. Back in Black did very well, and Spidey's central role in Civil War caused sales to skyrocket. Before Civil War, ASM was selling 70-80K a month, the others around 50k.
