Of the two, what do you think you read more of. I use to read books all the time, but I just don't really have the time to. I do read a lot of comic books because my son is five, and, thankfully, is very into comics. So once a week we go to the local comic book stores, and he usually gets the BATMAN;BRAVE AND THE BOLD (old and new) and he is really into, and I mean this, he is really into the JSA comic book. He also gets the six-inch figures (getting STARMAN last week).

But what about you? Do you read comic books more, or, books, or is it an equal split...or hey, you just don't do either?

Books easily. I havent read a comic book, in the sense of an individual issue, since about 1995. They have become too overpriced to be worth it, at least in the Uk anyway. I'd much rather buy a book that will last me a day or two than a comic that i can read in less than 20 minutes. Instead i wait for the collected graphic novel.

And to be honest i get more out of reading a book usually than a comic, but again thats less a criticism of comics than personal preference.

Books. The only comic I've read was Watchmen, after I've seen the movie ...

Although I love comics, like any addict I try to get through each day one at a time without touching the stuff. I read books instead, which is like an ex-heroin addict saying he doesn't touch the needle-instead, he drinks, because it's more socially acceptable and no body questions it.

I read equally between novels and comic book trades. Though since getting my DVD-ROM I've been reading a lot more comics since I have like a thousand on my computer :D :D :D

I read a crazy number of comics a week, but still try to squeeze in books. I'd say its 65/35 in favor of comics at this point.

I'd say comic books only because the series I follow are released at a higher frequency than the books I follow. I enjoy the "Titan" series of Star Trek novels for instance, but by the time a new book in that series is released, at least ten to fifteen new comics have come out.

I've recently begun branching out to the "urban fantasy" genre of books (such as the Marla Mason books) so I've expanded a bit beyond my normal pure scifi reading but comic books still dominate in sheer numbers.

Mostly comic books right now.

Most of them are in trade pb or hc versions and not the individual monthly mag.

I go thru phases. Right now, I'm back reading anything and everything that my library gets from the Marvel and DC stables.

That's my problem too. I would like to read comic books, but the price is simply ridiculous. I can buy a 400 page book for $10 (or under $5 at some used book stores) that will last me hours. Bring comic books down to $0.99 and I'll start collecting them.

^^ What I do is buy comic book trade paperbacks, read them, then sell them right off on Amazon Marketplace. Only loose a couple dollars on each one.

Technically, I probably read more digest-sized manga than anything else, but I generally have to go with comics (I make a weekly prigrimage to my local comic book shop every Wednesday morning after work).

I have, however, been reading more Trek novels than ever before recently. Whereas I used to buy a book once every year or two, I've probably bought a dozen in just the last two years.

I actually have two or three big boxes of old Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, and other sci-fi or adventure novels stored away in my closet though...

I read books.
I read comic-strips every day.. and I buy Nemi comic books.. but that is just about it.
