combining 'Wrongs' and Indescretion?

was thinking the other night after catching up on post TV DS9 stuff, given where they have taken Dukat, would it have been more interesting(see disturbing) if Indiscretion and Wrongs were One story, with Ziyal being Dukat and Meru's daughter, instead of a faceless Bajoran woman?
the ramifications on that would have been interesting to say the least.... maybe alittle to contrived tho?



I understand when Indiscretion was written, 'Wrongs' wasnt even conceived yet, but still, its a bit thought provoking

That would have made the Kira/Ziyal relationship so much less meaningful for the show than it was, if they were actually sisters. Kind of like her relationship with Tekeny Ghemor would have been less meaningful if he was her father or other blood relative.

It's the fact that Kira, who used to be so racist to Cardassians after having suffered so much from them, loved as a father a man who was a Cardassian with no blood relation to her, and was like a mother/big sister to a girl who was not just a half-Cardassian but Dukat's daughter (and again, no blood relation to Kira) that make them so important for Kira's story and characterization.

Well, I can certaintly understand your reasoning and like I said, this wasn't the most coherently thought out idea either. Now all that being said, I dis agree
I'm reminded of a movie that came out in 96 with Robert Duvall and James Earl Jones called 'A Family Thing' in which an aging racist Arkansas man finds out that his mother was not really his biological mother and that his biological mother was a black woman, and he sets off to. Chicago to search out his half brother and so on and so forth.....

Anyway, that's kind of what I was thinking, but your results may vary

Kira is not like that aging racist Arkansas man. The amazing thing about her is that, despite her past, she was able to recognize the goodness in individual Cardassians and feel dep empathy or form strong friendships with them, from Marritza to Ghemor to Ziyal, and she didn't need to find out that she wasn't a 100% Bajoran. If that had been the case, she wouldn't be nearly as admirable character.
