Coffee Anyone?

Mountain Dew used to be available in the UK quite easily between 1996 and 1998 or so - it just wasn't very popular, though I love it.

However, PepsiCo announced last autumn that it's being rereleased in the UK later this year, slightly renamed as Mtn Dew. (rumour has it that this, and the UK release of Sierra Mist, might lead to 7Up being withdrawn)

I tend to do this as well - and indeed have to choreograph fight scenes this way, which I'm sure would look really freaky to anybody watching!

I tend to choreograph fight scenes similarly, jumping and rolling around insofar as my not-so-young-anymore joints and ligaments can handle, and otherwise relying on action figures. It's so cool to have a paying job that is sometimes indistinguishable from sheer goofing around.

I couldn't help but read this and think "way cool". One of my students got me one of the Picard action figures as a gag, which I gave to my son. I have been trying to push it on the three year old a bit....but he keeps on demanding one of Spiderman.

I can visualize this happening and could see where choreographing action scenes with figures would actually work.

Not that far off, really. Most "energy drinks" are just hypercaffeinated soft drinks anyway.

But energy drinks have that weird chemical flavour that lets you know you're not an idiot for spending an extra dollar or two for your caffeinated soft drink.

We had Mountain Dew in Australia in the late 60s/early 70s. It came in a green bottle and I always assumed it was clear. Got a real shock the first time I ever poured it into a glass! It makes a resurgence Down Under ever few decades. Our version now has no caffeine in it.

Wikipedia mentions that Mountain Dew has an "energy drink counterpart" known as AMP.

james: if you live near Swindon, there's a store there that sells US stuff, imported. my boss buys Mountain Dew cases from there...

I can only wonder how different, how much more productive, my life might have been if Mountain Dew made in Canada had caffeine in it. All you can hope for here is the sugar rush.

What is Mountain Dew?

It's an energy drink/soda that's filled with lots of Caffeine and sugar and green.

Marc, hotlink of images is forbidden on this board. I've edited your post, please don't do it again.

Like Dayton, I too have a fondness for The Dew, but sadly they don't sell it on this side of the pond. I tend to mainline it whenever I visit the USA.

Something tells me we could work something out..... :D

I used to have a hook-up, a guy who worked on a US air force base who would get me a crate or two - but then he rotated back home and I was reduced to leaping the fence and sneaking into the PX...

The deuce you say!?!
