Clippy is the name of the animated paperclip that would show up in versions of Microsoft Office older than 2003, to make suggestions as to ways a particular document could be improved. Most people found him pretty annoying. A parody of him named "Binky" used in the comic strip "Help Desk" (link takes you the the first strip) was a fairly humorous and lovable element, though, and causes me to have a bit more fondness for Clippy than for Wesley Crusher.Perhaps a reference of who or what Clippy is would make this relevant to people like me...
