Ofcourse I do. And I help kiddo with it too. He enjoys it immensly actually. If he would have been a dog he would have used his paws to help "itch". lol

Also my brother cleans the cats ear. It is that cats highlight of days. If you take a Q-tip out he will push against it and purr the loudest he can.

I jam it in there and get the ears all nice and clean every once in a while. However, I usually clean my ears with my pinky during a shower so I have very little buildup.

I remember when I was a little kid there was a kid in our neighborhood who had the wax oozing out of his ears, it was disgusting.

This thread reminds me of a poll on this forum from a few years ago asking people how well they cleaned their butt when showering/bathing, "cheeks only" or do they actually go in and clean everything. I was shocked by the number of people who said 'cheeks only". I mean, good Lord, your ass isn't supposed to smell like ass all the time and chafe like crazy all the time. But I digress.

There's a "you could hear a pin drop" joke in here somewhere... :D
If they got the angle wrong they could have ended up threading their eye with a needle... :bolian:

Ew, ew, ew! :wtf:

Oh, we can do worse than that. Give us time.

"You're meant to stop when there's resistance!"

I knew that quote would pop up.

*bows*

I always deliver! :D

Oh yeah, I remember that one. A Real Classic.

My ears get very waxy, so I clean them out with Q-tips about once a week, though I could probably do it more often. I had them irrigated at the doctor's office once, and the doctor told me it isn't a good idea to use Q-tips. So when he left the room I asked the nurse, well, what should I use then? She said, oh just use Q-tips, there's really no other option.

^You must be getting old using terms like "whipper snapper".
Aren' you suckers down there due for another hurricane? :shifty:

;)

So. Not. Coo

Aren't you in Florida too?

I've heard it's not good to put a Q-tip in your ears because it can push the wax further in. I always try to go to my doctors to get them cleaned out when that happens. It's the worst. One time I had a big time wax problem so bad that the doc had to come in on a weekend and use an instrument to get the clog out. My ear was irritated for weeks after that cause I got a minor ear infection and had to put drops in everyday. Thank God it got cleared up and I was able to hear again. It really sucks when you only hear echoes in your left ear for about 48 hours and can't sleep because of it!

I clean out my ears as part of my normal shower routine, but sometimes it's not enough and they get clogged, so I have a doctor (re: my dad) do it.

I don't really need to clean my ears with q-tips often; maybe once in 6 months or so. They seem to stay naturally pretty clear. They did get blocked up with wax once though, about 5 years ago, and I needed syringing.

Exact same thing happened to me about a decade ago. And that syringing hurt like hell. They told me I probably produce a large amount of wax, and to never put a Q-tip in there because it was impacting wax in there.

Now I just use Q-tips for removing eyeliner and nail polish.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. I didn't get any pain myself, but I did stagger around like Bambi trying to find his feet for a good 15-20 minutes afterwards. Balance was totally shot to pieces as a result of the effect of the warm water on the semi-circular canals... I'm surprised no cop nicked me for drunk & disorderly.

Yeah, me too.

Wait. Uh....

My mother uses hair pins to clean her ears. Naturally I'm very careful not to touch any hair pins in that house! :shifty:

Small paper clips work really well too. Better than q-tips because you can pull the junk out rather than pushing it in.
