CJohnson's art Thread

Lieutenant Commander

Well, I'm back, and I've decided to instead of making multiple threads, I'll just have one thread to upload all my work as I'm working on it.

Way more efficient right? :techman:

Anyhoo, I've got a couple thing's I'm working on right now, and any future works. So I'll just post those while there still in progress. Finished works will have there own thread or will be put on my website.

That means I'll be posting the Federation Class I was working on this from now on.

Let's get to the good stuff.

It's good to be back. :)

Interesting. Somehow, the JJ-prise nacelle cowls don't work for me on the slimmer profile nacelle. Although, I prefer the proportions of your engineering hull...

Nice Blend of TOS,TMP,JJ Enterprise :)

The ship was mainly inspired by Gabe Koerner's and Daniel Broadway's interpretation of the Big E, then given a dash of TMP/TOS. The only JJ Bit's are the deflector dish, the font, and the "the nacelle cowls". The biggest one though is the 24mm camera gives each shot a big budget perspective.

If you look very closely though, you might see a little "textural" nod to the Ent - E in there ;)

Yup, I really like how she turned out, it a took a bit of good bit of inspiration. The nacelle cowls though were a necessity by design, I needed something to break up the shape, and the way the buzzard collectors are "built" to look more like intakes, unlike the classic design of the 1701.

On top of those I had a thought, "Where does all the excess hydrogen/other gaseous atom's/molecules go?" My answer was taken from today's technology, and a little scene from Insurrection, the one where the Ent- E does the whole plasma venting via the nacelles. So that's when the cowls were built.

I love these different variations. Your ship has a unique look. The font seems to be right out of the old manual.

Looking good CJ... design thinking after my own heart ;)

To be honest, I don't know how to respond to that...

I'll let my good man Tony deal with that.

Very cool!

Thank you, just wait till you see what's next.

Eh, it's not the old military font used on the original USS Enterprise. It was the font from TMP just pulled out and squashed inwards a bit.

Anyhoo, I got's to thinking what my ship would look like in warp, so I took this render here:

and eventually made this in photoshop here...

I believe they are both saved as 1920 by something, png's. You guys are all welcome to use the wallpaper, and the render. Just post any photo-manips on this thread. :techman:

Toodles!

it Means, i REALLY Like it :)

( sorry the Wink-stamp threw you...an error hitting wrong icon )

It's all cool mate, I wasn't really thrown off. I just wanted to have a little fun, and that wink there was mighty suggestive!

...Plus I really wanted an excuse to use that gif...
