So it's replacing Heroes?

Heroes reportedly, will only get a 19 episode season, and they'll run without a break. So Chuck's 13 eps gives NBC 32 hours for the season, rather than the 44 a full season for both would generate. ..Their penny pitching pays off, at least for them...

I would be totally down if they did a Heroes/Chuck season or something similar. As long as I don't have to wait a year more for a half seasons like with BSG.

While I am pleased to see that when Chuck comes back, it will be in the same time slot. I am not pleased to hear it will be returning so late in the season. There goes my hopes of it coming back, starting strong, and getting the order for the back 9 episodes for a full season. Hopefully NBC promotes the show heavily during their Olympics coverage. And I do agree it is better to hold all the episodes until after the games are over. This scheduling decision kind of reminds me of Eureka's, air new shows against reruns of other shows.

They're planning to. So I hear anyway. They realize that it's the only show they have currently that could be competitive on Mondays and not get totally destroyed by House, CBS's Comedy Juggernaut, and DWTS. Something I've been arguing for months. Their ratings do suck, but most of that is time slot related and compared to most of the other shows on NBC, far above average.

I'd consider it a vote of confidence considering they ditched Medium and My Name is Earl for it.
