CHUCK RENEWED!

I'm not sure they would get rid of the Buy More simply because there is a LOT of Product Placement revenue in those scenes. Doesn't seem like if they're trying to cut costs that they would do it by eliminating a revenue stream.

So long as they don't eliminate Adam Baldwin!

Its time for Jeffster to go away, dammit.

The Founder is NOT wise in all things! Jeffster rocks! :rommie:

Hearty agreement about Baldwin, tho. I imagine I'm not alone in that sentiment. They also need to keep Sarah of course plus Ellie & Awesome. That gives them a core group that could keep the show going very nicely.

This is brilliant, all my favourite shows got renewed despite them all having really shitty ratings. Win!
Studios really need to rethink what constitutes "shitty" ratings with genre shows if they are going to continue to make them.

Amazingly enough...I think they're starting to. I've been wondering when the ice would break, and they realize that they need to count stuff other than the Nielsens. Even tho I've been waiting for it, it's weird to see it apparently happening.

I guess it helps that they have no other choice. You got either your cult genre shows on the one hand, or the same old reality TV/police procedurals/mainstream sitcoms on the other. Genre shows are hard to keep alive but it's hard to compete in the reality TV/police procedurals/mainstream sitcoms field, because they are all the same, so what distinguishes your new entry from all the others?

There's a limit to the lowest-common-denomenator approach. Networks will want to use both strategies because neither is particularly "good" but both can be made to work.

There might be no need to COMPLETELY get rid of whole characters as we seem to be thinking. Look at Scrubs in season 8, they had a big budget cut, and the result was reduced cast appearances per episodes.. but I don't think any main characters were actually axed. Some just didn't appear as frequently, or appeared rotationally.

I for one would be sad to see the Buy More gang go. I hope they can hang on to them.

The only reason I'd be sad to see the Buymore go is the change they'd have to make to the opening credits.

Yeah, that happened with me between the 2nd and 3rd seasons of BSG... of course this wait is nearly as long as it was between half seasons of BSG.

So let me understand, SEASON premiere of Chuck will be in, like, March 2010? That sounds like a pretty dumb idea ...

So it's replacing Heroes?
Heroes reportedly, will only get a 19 episode season, and they'll run without a break. So Chuck's 13 eps gives NBC 32 hours for the season, rather than the 44 a full season for both would generate. ..Their penny pitching pays off, at least for them...

So let me understand, SEASON premiere of Chick will be in, like, March 2010? That sounds like a pretty dumb idea ...
Chick sounds like a show that should be on pay cable...:guffaw:But weith the Winter Olympics airing for 2 weeks in February, I'd rather they wait, than debut it in January, then take it off until March.
At least, it'll stay on Mondays, and not move to Fridays.

I should really sleep more and debug boring stuff less:lol:
