CHUCK RENEWED!

Temis the Vorta

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
About. Frakking. TIME!

Finally, the official confirmation that NBC’s Chuck has been renewed has come. It has been renewed for 13 episodes. There is an option for a back 9, but whether or not NBC exercises it remains to be seen. Unknown still, as of this writing, but something we’ll know shortly when NBC will air it on the schedule. The rumor mill has been suggesting Fridays at 8pm. We’ll see.
I'll bet it does get shuffled to Fridays. NBC is taking a page from Fox and using Friday as a DVR-happy dumping ground for cult shows on the assumption that anything else wouldn't even get DVRed and you gotta air something on Fridays, right?

What the frak, I tape everything anyway. I don't care if they air it at 3am on Sundays.

Great news!

About time. Hopefully if they do put it on Friday nights then they'll at least have the sense to set their expectations realistically.

I wouldn't count on the back 9 at this point if I were the writers. Conclude it!

Amen to that. Plan on 13 and nothing more--wrap up the show and go out on top. NBC seems anxious to get rid of this show despite it scoring better ratings with much stronger competition than some other shows it renewed.

From It's official: NBC renews 'Chuck' (but there's a catch)

The 13-episode pickup came after Warner Bros. agreed to make significant budget concessions, including scaling back the number of episodes several members of the show's stellar supporting cast will appear in and, per one insider, possibly eliminating one actor altogether (R.I.P. Anna Wu?). The show is also expected to cut two of its staff writers.

So a little downside to the pick up.

GREAT news!

And remember Numb3rs has done extreme well on Fridays for four seasons. And since Chuck doesn't need four more seasons, we might just get a full one. Especially after nightly Leno fades away quickly.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I was hoping it would be canceled so I won't have to hear about the show much longer.

This past season, Chuck has really grown on me. I'm glad it's back...but Friday is a very tricky spot. Still, I do agree that Chuck's premise has a limited shelf-life, so as long as it gets one more season, I'll be happy.

I enjoyed Chuck from time to time when I happened to get home early for Heroes, and I'm glad to see it's coming back. Definitely a fun show, and it's cool to have a show that's good enough to check out from time to time but not have to be slavishly devoted to it. I can only watch so many LOSTs and BSGs. ;)

I'm indifferent on the show. The few partial eps I've seen were alright. The genre fan in me is glad its alive along with Dollhouse. The writers of this show better learn from other genre shows and especially TSCC, have it largely wrapped up with an escape clause just in case.

Nice for it to be official, but 13 episodes with an option for a back 9 is tricky. I smell two endings for episode 13 depending on the situation. And cast cutbacks were what I expected when I heard the budget news, but it still sucks. Why can;t NBC cutone of its reality shows and give its scripted dramas a chance in better timeslots?

I would say that Emmett is the most likely person to be cut because they can resolve that whole plot in a sensible matter. I never thought that Hale would be on there so long and was surprised that he made it through the entire season.

It's because it's not made by NBC. That right there is the reason it's getting shit on. It's gotten better ratings and demos then most of their franchise shows except The Office. If it was made by NBC, I promise you it wouldn't be moved to Fridays.
