Chuck Lorre's BLOGS

One of the reasons I like to watch BIG BANG THEORY and 2 1/2 MEN is for the 'blogs' that Chuck Lorre puts at the end of the episode..you know..the long ramblings on the all white screen that you have to pause to read. (Could you imagine him doing this before VCRs?)

The one about Stan Lee was really funny last week, and last night's message about people his age, my age, growing old was really well done.

The best line? When you get to be our age, you piss in morse code...long streams..then some dot dot dot..then long stream..ect...do you read this blogs, or have you tired of them?

Good stuff..

I always read them, but I don't usually find them that funny. So why do I continue reading them? I don't know, curiousity I guess.

I was wondering what those were. Didn't realize they were 'blogs'. I first caught one while watching an episode of "The Big Bang Theory" on my computer. I was just passively watching the end credits and thought, "what the hell is all that writing?", so I had to pause and check it out. Can't say I've ever found any of them particularly funny or memorable, but there's a nice novelty to them...kind of like the chalkboard and couch gags on "The Simpsons".

That's all they are intended to be. They are vanity cards (as Chuck calls them). They are a single frame at the end of each episode he produces in which he can say anything he wants. Sometimes they are censored by the network, and in those cases, they can still be found on his site. He has skewered the network more than once.

As some of you know, I got to see a taping of THE BIG BANG THEORY last summer..we had a ball. And Chuck came and talked with the audience and was really a nice guy. So, I don't know why he does them, and maybe because he and I are in the same age range, but I find these blogs of his very funny and, in some cases, educational!

I don't think they're always "supposed to be" funny, or anything else. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes simply sarcastic, sometimes ironic and some of them are just odd. It's simply whatever is going through his head that day that week, not a creative writing exercise to work through stand-up material.
