That's called a joke or homage. It's not meant to be taken seriously, and can't reasonably be taken to mean that Chuck and Die Hard take place in the same fictional universe.
By that logic, Arrested Development and The X-Files would have to take place in the same universe as Law & Order and The Wire just because Richard Belzer played versions of John Munch in all four shows.
