He died like a few steps from the cell rejuvination lab or whatever it was. Of course he survives.

Even if they can't get Bakula back immediately... Steve probably has contingencies to download his personality onto a new body/ies, to continue fighting the good fight after his death.

Or maybe made an AI version of himself in the computer of the base under Chuck's childhood home using the same Intersect tech, just in reverse. Imprinting his brain pattern and neural impulses into a computer as a remote back up for himself just for any contingency that may require it. Chuck's new Fortress of Solitude with his father as the AI that runs the place... how very Smallville-y. ;)

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

^^You know, I could buy that happening. Chuck's Dad seems like the DaVinci/Tesla of his day.

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

The way the story is going, they could almost go the A-Team format.
We just need a writer who mentions Big Mike owning a black van.

For a moment there, did anyone else think that Big Mike was CIA or NSA or something else too? When he got that phone call from "Moses" I thought it was going to be some super secret organization telling him about the whole situation and telling him to go protect chuck, but not be seen or something. I was surprised when it was just a Buy More thing, heh.

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Yeah. I was seeing him as some kind of Shaft figure from the 70s until the reveal was explained. XD

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Considering Robert Duncan McNeill is a producer on the show that joke had to come sooner or later.

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Yeah... I have to wonder about Shaw... I hope he's gone, but it does look like a setup for a return since he was just put into custody instead of killed...

Oh, God, I forgot about the cellular regeneration thing... I hope that doesn't mean they're bringing back Bakula's character.... don't get me wrong, I loved it, I just thought that the way they made him such a casual casualty of Chuck's lifestyle really resonates with how serious his life has gotten.

Of course, keep in mind, too, that The Ring's Intersect equipment is still fully functional. Nobody blew the place up or anything... that'll almost certainly come back on us next season.

While the plotlines can definitely be considered a bit recycled (Back From the Dead, Will They/Won't They, Secrets!!!), I have to say, that's redeemed in my opinion by the astounding amount of character development that has gone during the course of this show. I like that the relationships and dynamics have changed and stayed changed, with everyone finally being in the circle on Chuck's spy life, Chuck and Sarah being a couple (and it NOT ruining the show), secrets of John Casey's past that didn't ruin his character in any way and weren't forgotten about in the next episode...

No, I wouldn't call that lazy writing at all, it's just obvious that the writers consider the overarching plot (FULCRUM, The Ring, etc.) merely as vehicles for a character drama. And I can respect that.

I can't seem to remember: Were we ever given a reason why Bakula's character need a Governor? (And why, oh why, did they have to give it such a dumb name? It embarrasses me just to say it.)

Because he too has an Intersect in his head.

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

^ Yep, just a much older version.

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Of course, you have to wonder why, if Old Man Bartowski knew that Chuck had an intersect since he was a boy, why did he wait all of this time to build the watch?

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Perhaps he didn't know the Intersect had side-effects until he began experiencing them for himself.

I figured since Chuck was special, he didn't need a governor until he had the 2.0 version. And remember he wanted the intersect out of Chuck and thought he had done so.

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

I'll give it a Chuck. I liked part one a lot better. Brandon Routh makes a lousy villain (far too bland; Zachary Levi would be much better in the role) and I was hoping that the Jeffster video would be better integrated into the Big Fight (on a big screen TV right behind Chuck and Shaw.

Maybe this is just me, but I used to think that someday they'd reveal that General Beckman was Chuck's mom. :rommie: She kinda looks like him and Ellie, and if we assume she left when Chuck was too young to remember her...

Looking forward to seeing where the Alex/Morgan/Casey thing goes.
That strikes me as just creepy. Casey's age suggests that his daughter can't be much more than 18, and Morgan's gotta be pushing 30. An emotionally stunted 30, sure, but still... :wtf:
Fuck. So Chuck was really dead and in purgatory?
Yeah, he died when the intersect originally downloaded into his brain. :D

Anyway, it's a good setup for S4, which I think has the potential to be the best season yet. They've dispensed with the pointless, cliched UST and the contrivance of Chuck not being able to tell his friends and family the truth. The upcoming conflicts - that spy work is downright dangerous and that I'm sure that Governor will be broken or lost at a vital point in the story - are the most natural and uncontrived they've hit on so far.

As for Mom Bartowski, I like Linda Carter or Anne Archer for the role. Or maybe Kathleen Quinlan, who played Evil Secret Mom on Prison Break. :D

Or Lena Olin, who played Evil Secret Agent Mom on ALIAS?

I know I was having definite ALIAS flashbacks during that final scene. "Mom?"

Adam Baldwin is 48, I assume John Casey is close to that age.

His daughter could therefore be as old as thirty or as young as 18. I'm guessing more like 22 or 23.

Joshua Gomez who plays Morgan, is 34, but I think Morgan is supposed to be late 20's like Chuck.

I have no idea how old Mekenna Melvin is (she plays Alex, Casey's daughter), but she's more than likely in her early 20s.

I see no problem here.

Edit: Casey faked his death in 1989, his girlfriend was already pregant. Worst case scenario, she gave birth in early 1990, that makes Alex no younger than 20. No problem, as Morgan is supposed to be 28. Divide 2 and add seven rule gives us "21".

Re: Chuck -3x19 -"Chuck vs. the Ring: Part II"-Discuss/Grade <SPOILERS

Wow, Adam Baldwin is keeping himself very young looking. I was figuring he was about 40.

Joshua Gomez who plays Morgan, is 34, but I think Morgan is supposed to be late 20's like Chuck.

The daughter looks 18. Joshua Gomez looks 34. It's creepy. But hey I never liked Morgan so if they want to play him as a creep, fine with me. :D
