It wouldn't surprise me if they left, but I would bet that it only lasts a few episodes while other more important spy things happen in Burbank. Or maybe Chuck's spy work takes him to Africa, and Devon realizes he can never escape!

Of course, Devon joining Doctors Without Borders would only confirm to the Ring that he is a CIA agent and they'd go after him while he is away from who they think are his handlers. Making Chuck and his team have to go rescue him and Ellie from them.

I don't think they're being written out permanently. I don't know, it just seems like first they get them out of Chuck's apartment... and now they start talking about going away on some life adventure? I don't know, maybe I'm a little paranoid since people were talking about budget cuts in previous threads, but I just keep getting the feeling that they're phasing those two out a bit, *shrug*

Well, they've always kind of taken a backseat to the major storytelling. There were stretches in Seasons 1 and 2 where they weren't around at all. I'm not worried about it.

I seem to be one of the few people who absolutely despises Morgan, but he was used to perfection here. Letting him stumble into castle (as unlikely as it may be, but then again we're discussing a show about a geek with a supercomputer in his head) and then telling Chuck all the things he heard had me absolutely ROFL. The scene with Morgan pressing Chuck and Chuck spilling his guts about Sarah worked surprisingly well too--I was a bit worried they'd have Morgan in disbelief at Chuck's story, thinking Chuck was BS-ing him. While the crew are right to wonder if Morgan can keep the secret to himself, I have to think the writers would paint him as doing the right thing to protect his best friend.

As for Ellie and Awesome, I took their proposed Africa trip to mean some time off from the show for budget reasons. I'd be a bit surprised if they actually had some stories take place in "Africa" (i.e., the California desert or worse yet, a cave soundstage) considering the show's budget is not exactly bursting at the seams with funds.

Excellent episode. It's good to see the writers get their groove back in a big way these past few episodes after what I considered to be a slow start to the season.
