Here we are at the last Chuckday before NBC starts their Olympics coverage this Friday. Chuck returns in March after the Olympics wrap with another 12 new episodes still to come for this season.

Chuck must protect Hannah as they end up on a mission together. Kristin Kreuk and Brandon Routh guest star.

Brandon Routh and Kristin Kreuk both have one more episode to go after tonight's airing. Don't be surprised to see either of them involved in a cliffhanger to carry over the Olympic break. Will it be angst or peril? Place your bets!

I love how this show is written. It feels like its already been a hour when its only half through the episode. It is awesome.

Solid episode. A notch below the last couple episodes though. Too much heavy-handed romance stuff for my tastes, but a lot of it was entertaining. I loved that Chuck came up with the plan to fool the bad guy, and his partnership with Casey was a highlight. Also, the scene with Shaw and the "black and bitter" coffee he brought Casey. This show needs more Adam Baldwin. Not that it doesn't make good use of him already, but more would always be welcome.

Jordana Brewster

Still haven't seen those episodes, but I love me some Jordana Brewster!

I was a little worried about this ep. at first, what with the obvious nod to the first Mission: Impossible film and the early portion of the show which saw Hannah getting suspicious as to whether or not things were truly over between Chuck and Sarah. Being a fan of the first six or so seasons of Smallville, the whole getting impatient with the potential love interest because he's got a secret that forces him to be less than honest with her seemed a bit of an overly familiar plotline.

They resolved it a bit differently from how they used to handle things on Smallville. It used to take a detailed explanation for Kristin Kreuk's character to understand and forgive. Here on Chuck, it's like, "Oh, fuck it. Who cares what your secret is?! Let's make out!" A much more direct approach. :techman:

Kristin sure can make a nerd herder look sexy :D That white shirt never looked so hot!

I'm wondering about her character though, a ring operative? If so, a REALLY good one. Or is this really just a civilian? I'm interested to see where they go with this, I really hope she isn't the cliche undercover agent.

Interesting that Chuck and Sarah are moving on, seperating, whatever. I think ultimately they'll come back to each other, heh, but interesting how things are now.

I like that Chuck took charge of the team, came up with the mission, headed the whole thing at the end, he seemed much more confident.

I was actually hoping the whole spying thing with Morgan and his sister would last longer though. I wanted them to stumble upon something like the secret hatch, or see chuck doing some kind of intersect karate thing or something. I was hoping that whole arc would last longer, it just got wrapped up so quickly. I think Morgan may still be slightly suspicious though, we'll see.

In the immortal words of Mike Myers as Fat Bastard, "DEAD SEXY!!!"

I had this thought that she might end up as the Tracy to Chuck's James Bond.... :( It doesn't seem like Hannah will end up as the cliche undercover agent, especially considering the predicament she found herself in tonight, but then I'm not writing the darn thing.

I noticed Robert Duncan McNeil's name in the beginning credits. He was Tom Paris from Voyager, right?

Yes, he's been a regular director for this series, and other series as well.

Roxann Dawson (B'Elanna Torres) has been doing a lot of tv directing lately, too. She directed a HEROES episode a few weeks back . . . .

She was also a producer for Cold Case and Crossing Jordan. Looks like she hasn't acted since about 2004. I guess she enjoys being behind the scenes.

Dawson also directed The Long Con for anyone else who's a Lost fan. That was one of the more memorable episodes at the time.

McNeill's work on Chuck is top notch. He seems to get the great episodes.

Very good episode.. tons of stuff happened.

Somehow they are writing Chuck and Sarah in a more mature way because for the first time i actually believed them going separate ways and finally disconnecting emotionally (of course i don't believe it will stay that way if the show continues but still) due to good writing and good acting on both of their parts.

Laughed loud at the Superman remark from Chuck about Shaw/Brandon Routh  (love those little touches) and felt really sorry for Morgan for having his hopes crushed by his best friend (who constantly seems to get insanely hot women).

Sadly.. no more Chuck till March.. damn the Olympics! :scream:

Wow, this episode seems to be completely loathed everywhere but here. Ah, shippers.
