Apparently all the Chucksters crashed TV By The Numbers. That's devotion.

Ratings were about the same. Should be higher with final numbers.

I was just thinking...

...Jeff and Lester could be so screwed right now. They used stolen military grade explosives to plant a bomb into the power grid that took out the power in Burbank. If there's a third season, will there be a "Chuck vs. Gitmo" episode? (at least before Gitmo actually closes its doors)

Bureaucracy will have it that people will still be sentencing and sending people to gitmo up till the very hour it closes or it's existence is a waste of taxpayers monies.

The show's referenced the new administration, so I doubt it'd be Gitmo. :)

But more likely, that will be completely forgotten.

Sheep Buddy, Gitmo's got 10 months left. The closing down process is difficult, what with figuring out where to send all those prisoners and making sure that they don't leave anything useful behind for the Cubans to pillage.

Holy cow, that episode was awesome, and I feel like the next episode is going to rock my world.

My friend just said it best: "You know a show is good when you watch the last 3 episodes and think each of them are the season finale."

Another Awesome. And Awesome vs. Casey was hilarious!

Yep, I figured Awesome would be able to learn Chuck's secret and keep his mouth shut - it's just the kind of guy he is.

But this show feels like it's coming to a conclusion, as in series finale! Maybe it's just a precaution, but have they given up on another season?

Maybe they just wanted to cut the budget so they're sending Morgan and Anna to Hawaii. Fine with me, Awesome would fill the Chuck's Best Friend role better - that guy's got a natural comic gift. And they can always contrive a way to put the Intersect back in Chuck's head.

If, in two weeks, that is the last episode of the show to ever air, it will be one of the least satisfying finales of all time. Chris Fedak, the guy who created the show, said people will set their living rooms on fire.

Oy gevalt, it's gonna be Bad Timing all over again! :klingon:

Does this mean we can organize a fan campaign to Bring Chuck Back? Because we should!

Maybe they just wanted to cut the budget so they're sending Morgan and Anna to Hawaii.

Don't forget who else is in Hawaii waiting for instructions from the government...Harry Tang!! :D
Oh no.

Honestly, I got the feeling that they're trying to get rid of the Buy More setting rather than getting rid of Morgan and Anna, but I could be wrong. I think someone here said it last week, but if they need to remove the Buy More storyline to advance Chuck's plot, then they should definitely do it.

I almost went to Subway for lunch a couple days ago so I could fill out a comment card and say it was because of Chuck! But the place was crowded. They don't need to advertise! :rommie:

Hopefully they were all Chuck fans.

Man, I had forgotten, all about him in fact. Hawaii must be like Mandyville for the Buymorians.

I've actually gone to Subway 3 times in the last few weeks. Prior to that, I hadn't stepped foot in a Subways in probably 6 months.

And it's not just that Chuck is advertising Subway. Subway is advertising Chuck! They've got a huge Chuck poster hanging on the wall right next to their menu!

I just watched this episode again. Still awesome. There was no slack in this episode at all. We got everyone at the Buy More, even the elusive Anna Woo, each with more than just a single token scene. And that bit with Jeff and Lester showing that they have noticed Casey's interest in Chuck to Captain Awesome? I think they have found their third stooge and straight man. And his scene with Ellie? (Smack! "I need you to focus!") So classic. I could watch this episode again and again. And again.

Has anyone heard anything new on this show being renewed for a third season?

I've seen more than one instance where the renewal/cancellation decision wasn't made until well into the summer.

It's not like NBC's overflowing with good programming, so I'm not sure what's taking them so long.

No, and I can't believe they are waiting this long to make a decision.

I'm hearing alot of things in this regard. Some think this danger of cancellation is just a ploy by NBC to try and drum up support and advertising for the show. Because the tie in to Subway seems a little suspicious to some.

There are other sources who claim that NBC is still in negotiation with Warner Bros. over the price, and that's what the delay is.

Then there are others sources who claim it's renewed they just don't know if they want to keep it on Mondays or move it.

Other sources have said it's probably canceled but they're keeping it around incase they have room, because they'd like to keep it if they can. They're bringing in a whole bunch of new shows, which they think can do better then Chuck, and aren't sure that there is room for Chuck because of Leno. Of which only Southland has done better. And that's on Thursdays as a part of their Must See TV line up and against less competition.

Of course, if it wasn't for Leno, Chuck would be a shoe in for renewal. Because OJ jokes never get old apparently. However, most speculate that Leno will bomb because all Prime Time talk shows bomb. The affiliate in Boston is in conflict with NBC because they don't want to air it because they think it will tank and cost them money.

Granted, their ratings do suck. But so do most of NBC's shows. It's not their fault. They've been the victim of just horrible luck. The writers strike stopped them from gaining a huge audience off the bat. The break they had just killed the high ratings they had early in the season by killing their momentum. Then you have them on the most competitive night on television going up against juggernauts like House, DWTS, and CBS's Comedy giant. And then there is Heroes. A show Chuck is supposed to be the lead in for, that has pissed away more viewers then Enterprise ever did. Both Chuck and Medium are paying the price for Tim Kring's sins. I promise you, a new night and you'd see a ratings increase. To expect a small, little, cult show like Chuck to be able to go against those and not get killed is idiotic.

That being said, there's alot they have going for them. They do better then Heroes sometimes. They do better then most of NBC's shows actually. They do better then My Name Is Earl, which is going to be renewed. They do better then Friday Night Lights, which got renewed somehow. They do better then Parks and Recreation, which was supposed to be NBC's new big show. They're the only show of The Class of 08 that didn't crash and burn. The network is supposedly high on the show. Its the only on the bubble show who's fans are actively doing everything in their power to get it renewed. It's not only a critics darling, but many critics are actively petitioning NBC to get it renewed.

Sigh, the Leno deal is the kill factor here. If they do pick it up, it most likely won't stay on Monday, which leads to where in the schedule could it be moved, and there, the real angst begins. Tuesdays-no, cause NCIS mows over everything during the fall, then Idol comes back in January, so cheapo Biggest Loser fares ok against them both, and they aren't gonna move that in favor of an expensive scripted show...Wednesday at 8 would fit, given the present competition, but they'd need a compatible show to follow it and lead to Leno...if Southland gets a 2nd year, it'll have to go on Wed or Fridays at 9, and Friday isn't the ideal slot. 2 Law and Orders have to fit somewhere and they can't (not usually) air them as early as 8pm...Friday night-shudder, the death zone for network genre shows, but it's light enough that paired with a couple of sitcoms and Leno, the honchos might go for it...
Or hold it for Sundays after NFL football ends, but would the suits think it's successful enough to run on the most watched night of the week? A long shot, but with 5 hrs swallowed by Leno, those are the options the programmers will be forced to weigh.

Not wishing ill will toward Jay Leno, but he cancelled today's Tonight Show taping as he went to the hospital. I like pre-TS Leno a lot. But his nightly prime-time show is a really bad idea. Give him Friday nights at 10pm. That's enough for everyone. (Friday Night Live! following Friday Night Lights)

I hope he's well and he (or his doctor) decides that the workload would be too much.

Loved when a very aroused Chuck opened his wallet and found the note from Morgan!
