The fate of the world rests on Chuck's mad videogame skills. Plus: Big Mike brings a new sheriff to the Buy More (Tony Hale guest stars).

It was awesome! Of course I'm a HUGE Rush fan. I missed everything up to the scene where he meets the guy in the elevator. What happened before he meets up with the old man

Definitely awesome... Sarah's 'gift' to Chuck at the end of the episode, while totally expected, still managed to extract some emotion out of me. And suprisingly, I actually kind of liked Jeff in this episode. The writers on this show are simply phenomenal at not letting characters languish in flatness for too long... keeping just enough development going to keep us caring about all of them... well, maybe except for Big Mike, but then, that's probably coming... lol

Things I liked:

Missile Command... sure the 'kill screen' is a total myth, but it sure was cool to watch.

'Tom Sawyer'... I swear, that song is going to become the anthem for the Golden Age of Video Games, yet I never get tired of it being attached to all of them when they pop up in modern culture...

Chuck's failed attempt to out-geek the professionals... I think this was a nice bit of reality-dosing to point out that, while Chuck is an electronics handyman and has some decent skills in his own right, he's not on the level of an office building full of CS PhD's... I like when shows do this to keep their characters from becoming total Mary Sues without completely embarrassing them...

Sarah's 'Plan B'

One thing I'm curious about that I've picked up on in the last few episodes this season: Is anyone else wondering what they have in store for Morgan? Slowly but surely, they seem to be developing him in a direction that seems to be maturing the character into someone who can stand on his own without Chuck to prop him up, to the point of making me wonder if a long term goal of the Buy More arc is to eventually put him into the Assistant Manager position that everyone seems to think should go to Chuck... but that might be a bit far fetched...

I really enjoyed this one. Missile Command, Rush, Jeff with a mullet, all good stuff. Even the unlikelyhood of Chuck knowing about Missile Command, let alone being a master at playing it, being far fetched (at least 10 years too young for that. It came out when I was a kid) didn't diminish the pure fun that Chuck delivers week after week.

Now we have 2 weeks before new episodes? What, NBC won't have enough election coverage next Tuesday that they have to pre-empt the previous night's programming too? Oh well, we survived the writer's strike, we'll survive this.

I fucking loved this episode. I can't believe how much this show makes me laugh.

I'm also wondering what's going on with Morgan. And what about Anna? They're supposed to be dating, but we really don't see much of either of them anymore.

Also, since I watch this on my friend's TiVo, we have decided that from now on we are going to watch Heroes first, followed by Chuck. Because when we watch Chuck first, we are always let down by how mediocre Heroes is by comparison.

Retro gaming?
Tom Sawyer?
Hot Agent Blonde Girl Kicking Terrorist Arse?

ALL AT THE SAME TIME?

YOU WANTED AWESOME - YOU GOT AWESOME!

:D

I'm the same age as Chuck and I've played a fair amount of Missile Command.

Well then, it is a good thing I didn't let it get in the way of enjoying the episode or cause me to downgrade my rating of it.

This show is so full of "Awesome!" every week. But this episode may have been the best so far this season. This was the first one that really integrated the bulk of the cast into a single story, rather than the two separate storylines that had been happening the first few weeks. Plus it had the villain from the Iron Man movie.

My only complaint really is that we won't get a new episode next week. But that is not the show's fault, it's NBC's.

You know, there has never been a single show that made smile as much as this one. It's just such an awesome show and this was another great episode. :D It seriously sucks there's no new episode next week.

Awesome. Nice way to integrate the BuyMore and SpyMore antics, with an extra helping of nerdiness.

Did anyone see Captain Awesome cheating on Ellie in the season finale of Mad Men? :D

Loved it. I was bopping to the music as Chuck played the game. Awesome show. Absolutely terrific. LOL when Casey dressed as a Nerd Herd.
