A bit late, I know, but I never saw this series and have just started. I'm not expecting crossovers or references, but just to know where am I standing, where does it fit in relation to the other series? Is it set between any older ones, or concurrent to them? I don't think it's supposed to be set after, because people do not seem to know the Klingon very well.

2257-58 --> DSC Season 2 (The USS Discovery jumps 930 years into The Future at the end of Season 2)
2259-60 --> SNW (so far)
2265-70 --> TOS/TAS

3189 --> DSC Season 4

DSC Season 5 will probably be in 3190.

When the Discovery is displaced into the Mirror universe, they mention that is a Federation ship, the USS Defiant, that somehow got itself into that universe and then returned home, without a spore drive. Are we talking about the Deep Space 9 Defiant ship, or is it a placeholder ship name shared by several in time, like "Enterprise"? I mean, they fit the circumstances described, but if the Defiant arrived first and the Discovery later, this would mean that the timelines of the mirror universe and the sacred timeline are not concurrent. Or that the spore drive allows to travel in time, too...

The Defiant they're referring to is from "The Tholian Web" (TOS) that got displaced in time/space/dimension and ended up in the Mirror Universe in "In the Mirror Darkly" (ENT). So the TOS Era Defiant has been in the Mirror Universe for 100 years.

Which means they've probably also modified the Hell out of it in the time since (which is why it looks different in that graphic), so the Defiant is like a Cuban car. Those cars are mostly from 1959 and earlier, due to embargos, have very few original parts, and most likely have had some crazy modifications done to them to keep them running for so long.
