They kept the entirety of Trek continuity in mind, and there is one in-joke reference to ENT that's been widely reported:
Scotty mentions that he got in trouble for conducting transporter experiments with "Admiral Archer's beagle." Which implies that either Jonathan Archer lived a decade or so longer in this timeline than Mike Sussman's "In a Mirror, Darkly" bio would indicate, or else the admiral was a child or grandchild of Jonathan Archer who inherited his taste in pets.
