Chrome Tiles Question

Hey guys. I have Chrome on my Samsung tablet and it used to have bookmarks as tiles on the front page. Now - no. I have to tap bookmarks to see a list.

I can't see any way of saving a bookmark as a tile on that front page so as to skip that extra step of going to the bookmarks link. What am I missing? I Googled it as I usually do, but there was nothing that seemed to answer my question.

Are tiles still enabled? Maybe they did away with it since we used it last.

I hate Chrome.....it just is not intuitive. But I have to use it for certain websites when I travel so I have to use it. Plus my Mom has a Chromebook and I have to troubleshoot for her too.

Thanks for any help.

Hopefully this works for you:

Add Chrome bookmarks to the Android home screen

When you open your Chrome browser on Android, you'll probably be greeted with the last website you visited. This is useful if you want to look at it again, but if you want to visit a specific site, you'll need to open your bookmarks and then tap the link. You can bypass that extra step by adding Chrome bookmarks to sites you want to visit most to your Android home screen. Here's how:

— Press and hold on the home screen you want the place the bookmark shortcut on. Select Widgets from the menu. Depending on your device, you may need to tap Apps and Widgets, or a similarly-named menu option.
— Press and hold on the Chrome Bookmark widget, then drag it to the home screen of your choosing. There will need to be space on the home screen to successfully add a new widget.
— Choose a bookmarked website from your collection. You will see the name of the widget's icon change to the site's name. Tap it to open the website.

You can add as many bookmarks as you like, and on as many different home screens as you like, space permitting.

So did I.

One of my favourite ever songs. I had this on a mixed tape I found and had to wait for the Internet to Lo, appear, before I could find out who did it.

I too have been off in a pleasant fantasy about VERY shiny tiles in the bathroom.

It uses Android. I'll wait a few days 'til I get home. Typing on a tablet sucks.

Thanks for the help.

OK, finally had time to get around to this, Locutus. What you're saying would only put another link on my Samsung home page of apps/widgets. I have a Chrome app on there already. I don't want TrekBBS or FB on that page. I want it as a tile on the Chrome main page when I access Chrome. They used to have what they call tiles - shortcuts to links. As it stands now, when I have to go to the homepage, I have to tap bookmarks THEN tap the link. I'd rather tap the link ON the homepage like I used to do. One less step.

I do have some tiles on my regular desktop but I can't control how to add more. I don't know what changed. I'm reasonably technically-inclined other than shit that telld you to "root the system" or other heavy-duty stuff which I don't do 'cause it messes up stuff big time if you don't know what you're doing, so it's not a "dumb middle-aged woman" thing, LOL.

An online search proved futile. I'll try again, now that I'm home. It may be that they've taken that away; things changed. I'm hoping that it's something that I'm just not seeing right away.
