My brother, sister-in-law, nieces, sister, and Dad were most generous this year.
Two new dress shirts, a new winter coat, new sneakers, a new microwave (my old one is 25 years old), $100 in cash and a $10 scratch ticket that came up a $100 winner from my Dad and Sister.
My brother used some of his frequent flyer points to buy my airline tickets for my vacation this summer. so after nearly 10 years without a vacation I'm heading back to Vegas this summer. The family also gave me $200 in spending money for the trip, a bottle of Gentleman Jack whiskey, and a beautiful Christmas ornament featuring a picture of our Mom who passed away two years ago. Oh and a $75 gift card for the Longhorn steakhouse.
So on the whole it was a very good Christmas in Clan MacLeod this year.

Sorry you were sick over Christmas. I hope you're feeling better now. I have another friend who was sick over Christmas, too, and still isn't feeling well.

I have some cool stuff I hope to have pics of soon, but first I wanted to post something rather unexpected and highly awesome. My brother is staying with us for a few days and has relocated for grad school, and both he and his girlfriend are trying to get new homes organized. His gifts to me came from her new place, and were apparently left by the previous owner.
Said owner was undoubtedly a Trekkie, and these collector plates were still on the walls.
Two of them commemorate a couple of TNG's best eps, BOBW and AGT, and the third is the original Enterprise. This plate dates from 1993 while the other two date from 1994. The artist is Ketih Birdsong and they are from collections issued by the Hamilton Collection.
Needless to say, I think they're great and I'm glad to have them.

Very cool! Previous tenant must've been on the lamb (or dying) if he was a Trekkie and left those bad boys behind.
