Here's a toughie:

In a parody of the Bing Crosby/David Bowie duet of "Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth", Late Night with David Letterman had which long-haired, politically-vocal rocker on to "sing a duet" with Dave of "The Christmas Song"?

(The words "sing a duet" are in quotes because someone else provides Letterman's voice and whenever they showed him "singing" there were potted plants or Christmas ornaments in front of his mouth.)

I don't actually have the definitive answer to this prepared...but how many Christmas songs can we name that use the word "gay" in its original context? I can think of two offhand.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (Make the Yuletide gay)
Deck the Halls (Don we now our gay apparel)

^I knew there were at least three! I was thinking of "HYAMLC", but hadn't thought of "Deck the Halls".

(A Christmas song pet peeve of mine, BTW, is how some covers of "HYAMLC" replace the line "Until then we'll have to muddle through somehow" with a redundant and less meaningful "Hang a shining star upon the highest bow". What, "muddle through" is too old-fashioned sounding for a Christmas song or something?)

There's still at least one "gay" song out there...anyone?

That's funny because just yesterday I heard them play "Let It Snow" by Air Supply on the radio and thought that was kind of odd!
