Chris Pine faces drink driving charges in New Zealand

...and watch, as HIjol selflessly leaves the "Romulan Ale" and "Saurian Brandy" references for others... ;)

I'll just say the same thing here that I said in the Star Trek Movies XI+ thread on this:

Assuming this is all true, all I can say is, don't drink and drive.

You don't have to do it, Mr. Pine, you've got no excuse. I hope you get all the help you need, and I'm looking forward to seeing you in the next Star Trek film. :techman:

This should be a lesson that, whether you feel drunk or not, you may well be intoxicated, or at least have a high enough BAC to fail a breath test. For crying out loud, they had designated drivers present. He should have made use of one.

Don't drink and drive. Unless your a celebrity, then do whatever you want.

One of my most terrifying moments was driving home on the interstate after a Friday night at the bar with co-workers. I had trouble focusing on the road, seeing double lines, the whole bit, but at least I was able to keep within the speed limit and stay in my lane. It was a very long and scary 20 miles. That was around 1985, and I never let myself get that drunk again.

When I was barely drinking age, and rarely drank, I went out with a friend after work and had two drinks. Didn't feel drunk, just a bit buzzed, but I had a helluva time staying in my lane going home.

Never again. Impairment sets in quickly.

Pine was a dumbass. The pub in question had a service to ferry tipsy patrons home/to their hotel/whatever.
